12 New Games Coming to PS Plus on December 17

As the year draws to a close, Sony has released its official list of games set to arrive in the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers for December 2024. Each month, PlayStation Plus updates its offerings, typically introducing the majority of new titles to the Extra tier, while the Premium tier includes a selection of classic and virtual reality games.

Notably, three titles have been added to the PS Plus Premium tier ahead of the official release date as part of PlayStation’s ongoing 30th Anniversary celebration. On December 10, players gained access to Sly 2: Band of Thieves, Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, and Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. This early release enriches the upcoming lineup that also includes one additional Premium title and 11 Extra games, culminating in a total of 12 new gaming experiences this month.

Starting from December 17, subscribers to both the Extra and Premium tiers will be able to dive into an exciting range of titles, including:

Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly

Additionally, Premium subscribers can enjoy the immersive experience of Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, launching on the same date.

Among the eagerly awaited titles releasing on December 17, Sonic Frontiers stands out as a must-play addition. Initially launched in 2022, this open-world adventure has garnered positive responses, setting it apart from previous 3D Sonic titles and earning recognition through various award nominations. Contributing to the excitement, Forspoken enters as a noteworthy Extra title, despite its mixed critical reception, maintaining its status as one of the few PS5-exclusive games on the market.

While the December updates promise a range of thrilling new releases, it’s crucial to note that the PS Plus service will also see the removal of 16 games, effective December 17. Notable departures include Dead Island, Judgment, several Mega Man titles, and Tinykin, creating a need for subscribers to manage their libraries accordingly.
