2024 Daejeon Special Effects Film Festival Red Carpet Highlights: Nam Ji-Hyun, Oh Yeon-seo, and More Stars

On Friday, September 20, 2024, the highly anticipated Daejeon Special Effects Film Festival kicked off its inaugural day of festivities, attracting a host of South Korean actors and celebrities who lit up the red carpet. Notable attendees included Nam Ji-hyun from Good Partner and Oh Yeon-seo from The Player 2: Master of Swindlers, among others. The film festival is set to run from September 20 to September 22.

The event is being held at the KAIST Main Building in Yuseong-gu as well as in downtown Daejeon. The Daejeon Special Effects Film Festival is notable as the only festival in South Korea dedicated to celebrating the special effects genre in cinema.

One of the highlights of the festival is the Daejeon Over-the-Top Awards, which will present accolades across 14 categories, including the eagerly anticipated Best Special Effects Award. This esteemed event is organized by the Daejeon Metropolitan City and the Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency.

In addition to the Daejeon Over-the-Top Awards, attendees can also enjoy special effects screenings and an interactive exhibition. The screenings will showcase outstanding special effects films created by both domestic and international filmmakers.

The interactive exhibition will provide attendees with hands-on experiences of cutting-edge technology in the realm of special effects. A spokesperson for the festival remarked:

South Korean Celebrities on the Red Carpet at the 2024 Daejeon Special Effects Film Festival

The 2024 Daejeon Special Effects Film Festival celebrated its first day on September 20, marking the sixth edition of the event. Originally called the Daejeon Visual Art-Tech Awards, it rebranded in 2023 to become the Daejeon Special Video Film Festival.

Yoon Bomi, a multifaceted South Korean singer, actress, and host, also won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role as Secretary Na in the K-drama series Queen of Tears.
