Pokemon GO developer Niantic has officially announced the return of its much-anticipated Fashion Week event, marking one of the game’s highlight occasions in early 2025. During this exclusive event, trainers can look forward to new costumed Pokemon and an array of enticing rewards, made possible through limited-time bonuses and Field Research tasks.

As the game ushers in the new year, it has already seen exciting festivities for New Year’s Day 2025, with promises of more updates and events on the horizon. With the lineup for January featuring a Mega Gallade Raid Day, a promising Community Day, and a unique collaboration with McDonald’s, Fashion Week is a timely addition to entice players with even more chances to engage and earn.

  • The event will be active from January 10 at 10:00 a.m. to January 19 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
  • Double Stardust will be awarded for Pokemon catches, along with increased chances of receiving Candy XL for players at level 31 and above.
  • Players can expect a greater chance of encountering the following Pokemon during the event:
    • Costumed Butterfree
    • Costumed Dragonite
    • Costumed Minccino
    • Furfrou
    • Costumed Cinccino
    • Costumed Diglett
    • Skitty
    • Buneary
    • Costumed Blitzle

  • Completing Field Research and Paid Timed Research tasks will yield additional encounters and rewards.

During Fashion Week, a variety of one-star and three-star raids will take place, offering trainers better odds of encountering costumed Pokemon, notably a costumed Shinx. Those engaging in raids can utilize Remote Raid Passes, allowing participation from a distance. For further experience points (XP) and Stardust, players may opt for the new $5 Fashion Week Paid Timed Research. This research provides rewards such as 3,500 XP, 3,500 Stardust, a stylish event-themed pose, and increased encounters with highlighted Pokemon from the event. It is important to claim these rewards before the event concludes.

The in-game shop will introduce new Plaid Top and Plaid Pants avatar accessories, which will remain available post-event. As in previous Pokemon GO events, players can showcase their newly caught Pokemon in PokeStop Showcases during Fashion Week to earn additional rewards.

As an added incentive, a Fashion Week-themed Collection Challenge will be available, rewarding players with more XP and guaranteeing an encounter with a costumed Shinx upon completion.
