“But I’m Still Here” – Jadejha from The Circle Opens Up to Garret About Childhood Homelessness and Abuse

The Circle Season 7 premiered four new episodes this week on Wednesday, September 17, 2024. This latest segment showcased the cast members as they engaged in interactions, strategized, deceived, and formed alliances to avoid being placed in the upcoming block.

While some cast members enjoyed light-hearted conversations, Jadejha took the opportunity to share her difficult childhood with Garret. During their discussion about Garret’s fitness journey, Jadejha sent him a private message, revealing that she was told to eat more as a child to prevent looking “sick.”She further confided about her experiences of homelessness before residing in a group home and enduring abuse.

“I was homeless for a period of time before I went to a group home. I knew I couldn’t go back to the different forms of abuse and violence I grew up around. #ButImStillHere,”Jadejha expressed.

Garret was deeply moved after learning about Jadejha’s past, tearing up as he offered her words of encouragement. He reminded her of her strength, success, and positivity, thanking her for opening up to him.

The Circle Season 7 Episode 5: Exploring Jadejha and Garret’s Emotional Conversation

In The Circle Season 7 Episode 5, titled “Circle Wedding Crashers,”Jadejha invited Garret to a private chat. Excited about the opportunity, Garret noted that he felt an instant connection with her even before their conversation began.

Recalling the group chat from The Circle Season 7 Episode 4, Jadejha mentioned that “yesterday was crazy”and inquired about how Garret was feeling. He responded, expressing a desire to learn more about her and to reach a point where they could both be more vulnerable.

Garret mentioned that he was “working out the stress”from the previous day, to which Jadejha replied that he hadn’t addressed the other players as she expected. This comment prompted her to ask about his fitness journey.

Jadejha shared her own experience with yoga for stress relief post-Circle Chat and asked Garret about his biography, specifically mentioning his goal of “debunking fitness myths.”

Before reaching out to Jadejha, Garret admitted he struggled to open up to others, despite wanting deeper connections. He felt this was a prime opportunity to discuss personal struggles with her.

“My fitness journey started with some bad habits, like disordered eating. Healing from that took a long time. Now I’m just making sure others don’t follow in my footsteps #MyStrugglesDontDefineMe,”he shared.

Jadejha expressed her belief that there was “more”to Garret than met the eye. She remarked that people who “looked like Garret”often had deeper stories beneath the surface. Sharing about her own fitness journey, she revealed how she was encouraged to eat more due to previous negative perceptions of her appearance, which led to a tumultuous mental state.

During their exchange, Jadejha revealed her experience of being homeless and living in a group home, which deeply affected Garret, leading him to tears. She emphasized that sharing her story allowed Garret to better understand her and highlighted her authenticity.

“Sometimes I just want to give the younger me, a hug, you know? ‘Cause damn, girl, we went through it,”Jadejha reflected.

Garret expressed gratitude for her openness, assuring her of his support both inside and outside of The Circle Season 7.
