Woman of the Hour unfolds the harrowing story of Rodney Alcala, who was convicted for the murder of numerous women in the late 1970s. Cheryl Bradshaw, unaware of Rodney’s disturbing nature, won a date with him after appearing on The Dating Game in 1978. The official Netflix teaser showcases Cheryl on her date with Rodney, who soon realizes that her choice was a grave mistake.

Rodney was notorious for posing as a photographer to lure in victims. Raised in San Antonio, he had a disturbing history of sexual misconduct that resulted in his suspension from military service. At the time he appeared on The Dating Game, he was out on bail after a recent prison sentence. Despite this, he managed to win the game and secure a date.

Cheryl’s later rejection reportedly intensified Rodney’s murderous inclinations, leading to a series of heinous crimes. In 1979, he was convicted of first-degree murder for the deaths of multiple women.
