Netflix has unveiled an exciting look at Twilight of the Gods, the latest animated series from renowned creator Zack Snyder. Drawing from the rich tapestry of Norse mythology, this adult animated series promises a thrilling showcase of brutal Viking battles and visceral violence.

The streaming giant has dropped a comprehensive cast list along with a full trailer, offering fans a sneak peek at the fierce and vengeful Thor and the cunning Loki. The narrative revolves around Sigrid, a valiant warrior who rescues King Leif in the heat of battle, leading to their marriage.

As they confront terrifying wrath from Thor, the duo embarks on a relentless quest for vengeance. Twilight of the Gods is set to premiere on Netflix on September 19, 2024, featuring all eight episodes.

1) Sylvia Hoeks as Sigrid

Sylvia Hoeks, a Dutch actress and former model, is celebrated for her performances in Blade Runner 2049 (2017) and The Girl in the Spider’s Web (2018). Hoeks gained recognition from her role in Jos Stelling’s film Duska (2007), which earned her a Golden Calf for Best Supporting Actress. Following this, she starred in The Storm (2009) and the title role in Tirza (2010).

Hoeks also portrayed Johanna van Heesch in The Gang of Oss (2011) and Elise in The Girl and Death (2012). Her international breakout occurred in 2013 with the character Claire Ibbetson in The Best Offer.

Additionally, she appeared as Lara in the action film Renegades directed by Steven Quale and as Leigh in All the Devil’s Men. Currently, she plays Queen Kane in the Apple TV+ series See and is set to star in the upcoming thriller Berlin Nobody by Jordan Scott. Hoeks voices the pivotal character of Sigrid in Snyder’s Twilight of the Gods.

2) Stuart Martin as Leif

Stuart Martin is a Scottish actor recognized for his roles in the comedy-drama Babylon (2014) and historical series like Medici: Masters of Florence (2016), Jamestown (2017–2019), and Miss Scarlet and The Duke (2020–2024).

He portrayed Tony in Babylon and took on the role of Lorenzo de Medici in Medici: Masters of Florence. Martin also played Silas Sharrow in Jamestown and starred as Detective Inspector William Wellington in Miss Scarlet and The Duke. He voices King Leif in the upcoming Netflix adult animated series.

3) Pilou Asbæk as Thor

Pilou Asbæk, a Danish actor, is best known for his portrayal of the troubled spin doctor Kasper Juul in the acclaimed Danish political drama Borgen and as Euron Greyjoy in Game of Thrones. He also plays The Mule in the Apple TV+ series Foundation.

In addition, he joined the cast of the superhero film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom as Kordax and appears in the Stephen King adaptation Salem’s Lot as Richard Straker. Asbæk voiced Mario in the Danish dub of 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie and will bring Thor to life in Twilight of the Gods.
