BTS’ Kim Seok-jin, also known as Jin, released the latest episode of his popular reality show, RUN JIN, on September 17, 2024. Episode 6 featured the Tonight singer-songwriter engaging in a friendly tennis match with special guest actor Lee Yi-kyung, well-known for his role in the hit K-drama Marry My Husband.

In this episode, both stars were trained by a professional tennis coach, Kim Sang-gyun. The coach expressed his appreciation in a heartfelt comment on the video shared on BTS’ official YouTube channel, BANGTANTV. He remarked on how Jin made him feel at ease during the shoot and said,

“During this shoot, there were so many cameras, and I was nervous, but Seokjin, who noticed that, kept worrying about me and looking after me, always staying by my side. I was so thankful and grateful to him. He also made the atmosphere on set so enjoyable. Seokjin, who is as handsome in heart as he is in appearance, truly shows that world stars are different.”

In episode 6, Actor Lee Yi-kyung joined the BTS idol, revealing their enduring friendship of over 17 years stemming from their shared time at the same acting school. This friendly yet competitive matchup showcased the camaraderie of the two ‘tennis kids’ against real junior tennis players.

The competitive nature of the Super Tuna singer-songwriter and Lee Yi-kyung was palpable, despite their amateur status and noticeable age difference with their younger opponents. The junior players, aged 11 and 12, highlighted their experience, stating they had played tennis professionally for over six years.

As the episode unfolded, Jin humorously engaged in playful banter with the kids, bringing laughter to the segment. The episode was filled with entertaining moments, including an amusing celebration between the duo after scoring a point against the younger tennis players.

One particularly humorous moment occurred when the BTS singer jumped into Yi-kyung’s arms in celebration after the opposing team’s ball hit the net, wrapping his legs around the actor’s waist. The kids, after enjoying their time with the celebrity duo, playfully mentioned they had been taking it easy on them.

The lighthearted celebrations came to a halt when the kids ramped up their game, making it impossible for Jin and Yi-kyung to score any points. Chaos ensued as the two celebrities comically began yelling at one another, causing laughter among the kids and the filming crew.

Ultimately, both Jin and Yi-kyung lost the matches against the younger players by a wide margin. The BTS idol later confessed that he attempted every trick in the book to win against the kids, but ultimately, it was in vain.
