Ralo Responds to Backlash Over Filming Rich Homie Quan’s Burial Site: “Get Off the Internet”

Ralo addressed the criticism he garnered after he live streamed Rich Homie Quan’s funeral in South Fulton on September 17, 2024. Just days prior, on September 5, the late rapper’s girlfriend discovered him unresponsive in his Atlanta residence. The official cause of death is yet to be confirmed at the time of writing.

Following the funeral, Ralo expressed on social media his discontent regarding the backlash over streaming the service and burial site on Instagram Live. He also questioned why there was no condemnation towards those who chose not to attend Rich Homie Quan’s funeral.

“If you don’t want to see me on the internet then you know what you got to do. Get off the internet b***h. ‘Cuz I ain’t. Soon as a n***a say something good about somebody, you d**k riding. Soon as you try to post a n***a that’s dead, you d**k riding. Do y’all muthaf**kas ever say anything good?”

Ralo and Rich Homie Quan engaged in a feud in 2016, after Ralo accused Quan of song theft. They managed to put their differences aside and reconciled in 2021. After Quan’s passing, Ralo took to Instagram to honor the late rapper, expressing gratitude that they resolved their issues prior to Quan’s death. He reiterated this sentiment in an Instagram video following Quan’s memorial.

Ralo Defends Rich Homie Quan Amid Snitching Allegations

On the day of Quan’s death, Ralo took to X to criticize individuals for their hypocritical conduct. He highlighted how the same people who called the late rapper a “rat”due to rumors of him snitching on Young Thug’s YSL RICO case were now memorializing him.

“See that that s**t I be talking about. Y’all n****s be so fake. The whole world was just calling this man, Rich Homie Quan, a rat. Soon as he die, ‘Oh, that was my friend. I love him.’ Boy, y’all n****s so goddamn fake ’round this muthaf**ka, man,”he stated.

Rich Homie Quan’s name was brought up during the ongoing YSL RICO trial just two days before his death. Quan and Thug had been emerging rappers together prior to their fallout.

On September 3, the prosecution questioned YSL associate Lil Woody, a key witness in the trial, about Quan’s relationship with Thug, asking if they had any issues.

Instead of answering directly, Woody aimed the question at Thug, inquiring,

“Thug, did you have an issue with Rich Homie…”

This moment elicited laughter from the court, including Thug.

Rich Homie Quan’s Family Pays Tribute at His Service

Rich Homie Quan, born Dequantes Lamar, passed away at the age of 33 on September 5, 2024. The memorial service for the late rapper was attended by friends, family, and peers who came together to pay their respects at World Changers Church International.

Corey Lamar, Quan’s father, spoke on how his son inspired him to become a better father and role model, stating:

“From the day I met Quan and I held him, my life changed. I knew failure was not an option. But little did Quan know, he pushed me to be a dad, a role model and to be an example of what a man should be. Built upon integrity, morals and values.”

His brother, Andre Munford, shared reflections on Quan’s journey as a rapper and the accompanying success. He expressed gratitude to his brother for sharing that success, recounting how their family transformed from eating oatmeal and cereal to enjoying continental breakfasts and private chefs due to Quan’s hard work.

Rich Homie Quan achieved fame with his hit song “Type of Way”released in 2013, and he launched his sole studio album in 2018, titled “Rich as in Spirit.”
