Disabling Puzzle Hints in God of War Ragnarok on PC

With the official release of God of War Ragnarok PC, players now have the ability to adjust certain elements of the game that were considered overly intrusive during its initial launch on PlayStation two years ago. Although the game features many beloved supporting characters, their frequent dialogue may have felt excessive, particularly when attempting to solve puzzles. Fortunately, the new PC port offers a way to modify these in-game settings.

This guide will provide detailed information on puzzle hints in God of War Ragnarok PC and how to adjust the related settings.

Disabling puzzle hints in God of War Ragnarok PC: A Guide

If you’re enjoying God of War Ragnarok PC, you’ll be pleased to discover an option to reduce the frequency of puzzle hints from your companion characters. This was a significant issue during the game’s initial release, as these characters often provided explicit hints before players had the opportunity to solve the puzzles on their own.

Upon entering a new area, you would frequently receive hints before fully exploring the environment. While the game included a Puzzle Timing setting to provide players with more time, there previously weren’t any settings to limit the number of helpful hints.

Now, thanks to the PC port launch on September 19, 2024, a change has been made. Within the Gameplay Settings tab, there is a new option that enables you to modify the puzzle hint settings. Consequently, the frequency of hints provided by your companions will be significantly reduced.

New audio features in God of War Ragnarok PC

The launch of the PC version has also introduced various new features as highlighted in a recent blog post from the developers. Besides the puzzle hint adjustments, enhancements have also been made to the audio settings.

By enabling the Audio Description feature in the Audio Accessibility menu, players can listen to audio descriptions of visual events during cutscenes. This feature enriches the narrative by providing additional context that supports the spoken dialogue, greatly benefiting players with low vision.

Importantly, these accessibility settings are expected to be added to the PS5 version in the near future.
