Current Location of Kaitlyn Conley: Update on the Subject of Hulu’s Little Miss Innocent

Following a wave of compelling true-crime documentaries and series, Hulu is poised to delve into the intricate case of Kaitlyn Conley, who stands accused and was charged with the murder of Mary Yoder, the mother of her longtime boyfriend and former employer. Despite her ongoing claims of innocence, the jury’s decision in her 2018 sentencing told a different story.

This chilling crime, which dates back nearly a decade, is examined in Little Miss Innocent: Passion. Poison. Prison, a new true-crime docuseries from Hulu, set to premiere on September 20, 2024. The synopsis of the series provides insight into the case:

“The series recounts the story of Kaitlyn Conley, a 31-year-old former receptionist who maintains she has been wrongfully convicted of the 2015 murder of Mary Yoder, her former boss and the mother of her ex-boyfriend, Adam.”

Alongside the investigation, the series will present Kaitlyn Conley’s own perspective on the events surrounding the case. Currently, Conley is serving her sentence at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women in Westchester County, New York, following her conviction for voluntary manslaughter.

Who is Kaitlyn Conley and what are the details of her case?

Kaitlyn Conley was employed at Mary Yonder’s successful chiropractic practice and had a long-term relationship with her son, Adam. Their relationship raised concerns, described as toxic, with frequent ups and downs that were difficult to navigate.

Having known Adam since 2011, Kaitlyn alleged that he had been abusive towards her. Despite the turmoil in her personal life, she was not considered a person of interest until the sudden and tragic death of Mary Yonder.

On July 20, 2015, Yonder complained of stomach pains, which she initially did not take seriously. However, her condition deteriorated quickly, leading her husband, William Yoder, to rush her to the hospital. Tragically, Mary passed away on July 22.

Medical examinations later revealed that she had died from poisoning, specifically with Colchicine, a medication typically used for treating gout.

An anonymous tip soon implicated Adam, who had a motive but was proven to have a solid alibi. Subsequently, Kaitlyn Conley’s name emerged in connection with Adam. The tip indicated that a Colchicine bottle would be discovered in Adam’s car, which indeed was found, suggesting he might be intentionally framed.

The discovery of the Colchicine receipt led authorities to Kaitlyn Conley. Additionally, having worked at the clinic for four years, investigators uncovered troubling behaviors from her, including supplying Adam with harmful supplements.

Ultimately, police connected Kaitlyn to the Colchicine, and she admitted to writing the anonymous tip while still asserting her innocence regarding the poisoning of Mary Yoder.

What is Kaitlyn Conley’s current situation?

Kaitlyn Conley’s trial commenced in April 2017. Prosecutors argued that she murdered Adam’s mother as an act of revenge against her boyfriend. The first trial resulted in a mistrial as the jury could not come to a consensus.

During the subsequent trial, with new evidence introduced, the jury reached a conclusion. She was convicted of first-degree manslaughter but acquitted of second-degree murder.

At just 24 years old during sentencing, Conley was given a 23-year prison term. She remains incarcerated at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women in Westchester County, New York, and continues to assert her innocence.
