HYBE Faces Fan Backlash for Allegedly Overworking Artists After TXT’s Soobin Calls for REAL Breaks on Weverse

Recently, Soobin from TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) expressed alarming health concerns on Weverse, raising awareness about the intense demands that HYBE places on its idols. On September 15, 2024, Soobin shared a series of direct messages revealing he was experiencing severe fatigue and struggled to even eat.

His candid message, coupled with a photo of him resting, prompted fans to criticize HYBE (BIGHIT MUSIC) for allegedly overworking their artists. In his post, he stated:

“passing out, i’m so tired… I don’t even have the energy to swallow food so i only ate half of it. For starters, i’ll wash up and be back. I might not be back either…”

Soobin’s confession about being too exhausted to eat sparked outrage across social media platforms.

Fans expressed their frustration towards HYBE, accusing the company of neglecting its artists’ health. Raising concerns about the packed schedules, a user on X, @dionysusonfire stated:

“having 3 comebacks in one year while also having a tour and promoting solo endeavours should not be supported! they need REAL breaks that aren’t tied to their injuries and exhaustion. PLEASE help by joining the boycott.”

“They deserve that rest sooo much,”commented a fan.

“The way he texted istg it hurts ugh I hope they all get as much rest they want,”an X user wrote.

“Soobin…aww… Hope you had a good night’s sleep. Eat a lot for breakfast. Take care, babe,”remarked another user.

“So do their super short break starts today I’m worried about them after what Soobin said on Weverse DM,”a fan wrote.

Many have rallied for a boycott against HYBE, insisting the label needs to prioritize the health of its artists over profits, especially since more idols from the agency have been reporting injuries.

TXT’s demanding schedule has long raised alarms among fans. The group’s ongoing world tour, combined with their upcoming album release, further intensifies their workload.

“These idols are not silent about their abuse, y’all just don’t listen,”commented a fan.

“Y’all are letting HYBE get away with literally abusing their artists, their employees badmouthing their top artists, overworking them till they pass out, not defending them. Do y’all even CARE about your favs?!”another X user added.

“Tell me ONE HYBE artist that isn’t being mistreated, exploited, or overworked to the ground. HYBE sees them as NOTHING BUT INCOME GENERATING OBJECTS. If you genuinely care about them and want better for them, boycott!!”commented another user.

Concerns Rise Over Increasing Injuries Among HYBE Artists Due to Intense Schedules

Fans perceived Soobin’s comments as a subtle indication of the immense pressure faced by him and his fellow TXT members, igniting renewed calls for better treatment of K-pop idols.

HYBE has been facing escalating backlash regarding artists’ injuries, with several idols recently experiencing health issues. Notably, ENHYPEN’s Jay had to miss parts of a performance due to a knee injury, while another member, Jake, was spotted with bandages during their shows.

Such incidents have intensified criticism, as fans highlight an alarming trend of recurring injuries among HYBE artists. While injuries are a known risk in the K-pop industry, the frequency of health problems within this company has raised serious concerns.

This year alone, numerous idols—including members of TXT, NewJeans, ILLIT, and SEVENTEEN—have been compelled to take breaks due to leg-related injuries.

Fans are urging the label to reconsider its rigorous scheduling, insisting that the well-being of its idols be prioritized moving forward.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) is currently in the midst of their ACT: PROMISE world tour, with their next performance scheduled for October in Jakarta, Indonesia.
