MYTRO Members: Ages and Everything to Know About SM Entertainment’s New Trot Music Group

MYTRO is an upcoming five-member South Korean trot boy band that is set to debut under SM Entertainment and YAMYAM Entertainment, in partnership with TV Chosun. The group was formed through the reality show Falling for a Trot-dol: Lovestruck Noonas, scheduled to air in October 2024.

The members of MYTRO include Tey, Yoonjae, Shohei, Chaepyoung, and Woohyeok. Unlike most rookie groups that typically feature younger members, MYTRO stands out with its mature age range, comprising members aged between 26 and 32.

The group consists of four South Korean members and one Japanese member. While the exact debut date is still to be announced, the unique concept and age profile of MYTRO have already attracted significant interest from fans.

Over the past week, the official YouTube channel, @MYTRO_Official, has been releasing introductory videos for each member. The group features several familiar faces, including former idols from various groups as well as actors.

Here’s everything you need to know about the five members of MYTRO:

1) TEY

Tey, whose real name is Han Ji-hyun, was born on June 18, 1992, making him the oldest member of MYTRO at 32 years old. He serves as the group’s leader.

Before joining MYTRO, Tey was a member of the K-pop group Mr. Mr. He also made a solo debut with the song Dangerous in 2015. His background, which includes participation in Mr. Trot 2, demonstrates his versatility as an artist.

2) YOONJAE

Born on February 10, 1993, Jung Yoon-jae is a South Korean who transitioned into music after making a name for himself as an actor. At 31 years old, he has appeared in several popular television dramas, including Missing: The Other Side 2 and Boyhood.

His acting experience adds a unique dimension to the group’s dynamic, providing him with a commanding stage presence.

3) SHOHEI

Shohei, whose full name is Matsushima Shohei, is the only Japanese member of MYTRO. He was born on December 16, 1996, making him 27 years old. Shohei was raised in Fukuoka, Japan, before moving to Korea to further his career.

He joined SM Entertainment in 2022 and quickly became a member of SM Rookies, gaining recognition for his rapping and DJing skills.

4) CHAEPYOUNG

Lim Chae-pyoung, born on October 1, 1997, is MYTRO’s main vocalist. At 26 years old, he is celebrated for his soft yet powerful voice. A South Korean native, he honed his musical talents at Howon University, where he studied music and performed in the military band.

5) WOOHYEOK

Seo Woo-hyeok, born on July 14, 1998, is the youngest member of MYTRO at 26. Like some of his fellow members, he has pursued acting and has appeared in dramas such as The Glory and Death’s Game.

Despite being the youngest, Seo is known for his lively and energetic personality, along with interests in cooking and fitness.

As of now, an official debut date for MYTRO has yet to be announced.
