With the highly anticipated JRPG, Metaphor ReFantazio, set to launch on October 11, 2024, there are growing inquiries about its availability on Microsoft’s consoles, specifically the Xbox One and Series X/S. Historically, many titles from the Shin Megami Tensei (MegaTen) series have not been accessible on Xbox platforms, leading to valid concerns among players. However, the game’s promotional materials may address some of these concerns, though not entirely.
Metaphor ReFantazio will be available exclusively on the Xbox Series X/S consoles and will not be released on the Xbox One. As of now, Atlus has not indicated plans to bring the game to the previous-generation Xbox, as the official Metaphor website does not list the Xbox One among the supported platforms.
Exclusive Release on Xbox Series X/S, No Xbox One Version
Atlus has been consistent in bringing its recent games to the Xbox platform, and this pattern continues with Metaphor. Unfortunately, this upcoming JRPG will solely be available on the current-gen Series X/S and will not be launched for the Xbox One.
This decision may seem puzzling, especially since Metaphor will also be released on the PS4, which is considered a last-generation console. As it stands, Atlus has not provided any updates regarding the Xbox One, and for now, Metaphor ReFantazio will not be available on it.
In addition to the Xbox consoles, Metaphor will be accessible on the following platforms:
- PlayStation 4
- PlayStation 5
- PC through Windows Store and Steam
Similar to the situation with Persona 3 Reload, the new JRPG will also not be making its way to the Nintendo Switch at this time.

- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (4GB), AMD Radeon RX 480 (4GB), or Intel Arc A380 (6GB)
- DirectX: Version 11
- Storage: 93 GB available space
