Diddy in “Shock” After Bail Denied Twice and Suicide Watch Placement at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center

Sean “Diddy”Combs is currently reported to be on suicide watch at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC). He was taken to the MDC after being denied bail on September 17, following his arrest at the Park Hyatt Hotel on September 16, 2024. Diddy faces serious charges including s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

As per a source quoted by People Magazine, Diddy was placed on suicide watch as a precautionary measure. Reports indicate that the rapper is in a state of shock, and his mental health remains uncertain. The Metropolitan Detention Center is described as “hell on earth”due to issues such as understaffing and a troubling number of deaths and suicides among inmates.

During a court hearing on Tuesday, Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, requested that his client be transferred to an Essex County prison, arguing that the MDC environment is too dangerous and unsuitable for pre-trial detention.

“Just earlier this summer, an inmate was murdered. At least four inmates have died by suicide there in the past three years,” Agnifilo stated.

The MDC currently holds approximately 1,600 inmates and has housed notorious criminals such as rapper R. Kelly, convicted of child s*xual abuse, and Ghislaine Maxwell, associated with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein in his s*x trafficking operations.

Diddy’s hearing will resume on September 24

A hearing to discuss Diddy’s s*x trafficking case is scheduled for 10 AM on September 24. The rapper was denied bail a second time on September 18 after prosecutors claimed he poses a flight risk and a potential threat to victims and witnesses.

Prosecutors highlighted that Diddy allegedly made 128 phone calls to former bandmate Kalenna Harper following the lawsuit filed against him by their third bandmate, Dawn Richard, just days prior to his arrest.

However, Agnifilo countered that Diddy traveled to New York on September 5 to surrender, but the prosecution did not accept his surrender. He argued this was indicative of Diddy’s “trustworthiness and lack of flight risk.” Ultimately, Judge Robyn Tarnofsky denied bail, resulting in Diddy’s detention at the Metropolitan Detention Center.

Diddy’s arrest followed raids on his LA and Miami mansions on March 25, 2024, where Homeland Security allegedly uncovered firearms, narcotics, and a thousand bottles of baby oil, along with evidence related to events termed as “freak offs”in the indictment.

The “freak offs”were reportedly events hosted by Diddy where he allegedly coerced women into “elaborate and produced s*x performances”with male escorts. Legal documents claim that Combs used his influence and various substances to manipulate women into participating in these “freak-offs.”

“Freak Offs were elaborate and produced s*x performances that Combs arranged, directed, mas****ated during, and often electronically recorded,” the indictment states.

In relation to the s*x trafficking allegations, Diddy is also facing eight lawsuits that accuse him of abuse. The first lawsuit was filed by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in November 2023, accusing the rapper of physical assault and s*xual abuse over a nearly decade-long relationship.

Diddy has pleaded not guilty to the s*x trafficking charges and has denied the abuse allegations. However, a 2016 video surfaced in May showing Combs assaulting Ventura, prompting him to issue a public apology video via Instagram.
