Netizens React to Mnet’s Accused Evil Editing in Road To Kingdom: Ace of Ace Episode 1

On Thursday, September 19, the premiere episode of Mnet’s Road To Kingdom: Ace of Ace debuted online. This reality survival series features contestants including 8Turn, Cravity, Oneus, Tempest, The CrewOne (comprised of ATBO and Just B), The New Six, and Younite. Fans and netizens were excited to see what the K-pop boy groups had planned for the show.

However, the debut episode received negative backlash, with many viewers accusing Mnet of engaging in “evil editing”to portray K-pop idols unfavorably. During the group introductions, each ensemble displayed a ranking card determined by their fellow contestants.

Upon discovering their last-place ranking, the members of YOUNITE expressed their disappointment, particularly Eunsang, who was visibly upset. In a private interview, he declared his intention to no longer maintain a friendly demeanor with the other groups.

“They all placed us 7th. It’s not time to be amicable,”Eunsang stated.

Another segment showed Eunsang refusing to shake hands with the leader of another group, excluding THE NEW SIX‘s leader, Choi Tae-hun. While fans initially criticized Eunsang’s behavior, they soon considered the possibility that Mnet had edited the footage to create a misleading narrative.

“It’s already starting. ur dumb for falling for evil editing and being a hypocrite knowing damn well this will start fanwars lmao,”remarked one user.

“K-pop stans are like ‘remember Mnet loves to evil edit people, don’t fall for it,’ and then a new show starts and they are the first who fall for it,”commented a fan on X.

“I’ll be damned if ur speaking on Eunsang like that btw. clearly, the majority of yall have never watched an Mnet show. it’s normal for them to do evil editing & yall look silly falling for it,”wrote another fan.

Many netizens expressed their desire to resist Mnet’s alleged “evil editing”in Road to Kingdom and maintain support for the participating groups as they navigate the competition.

“I saw this as something funny. Eunsang was sulking but Mnet made an edit like that. be angry with Mnet and let there be no war between us,”shared a netizen on X.

“Also, it’s a competition and it’s normal for people to get competitive like that. they’re reading too much into it,”noted a fan on X.

“I won’t fall for this, they are friends and they love each other,”added another netizen.
