In the finale of The Bachelorette Season 21, Jenn faced the tough decision of choosing between Devin Strader and Marcus Shoberg. After a heartfelt discussion with Marcus, where he expressed that he still needed time, Jenn ultimately chose to get engaged to Devin.
Although Jenn was initially thrilled with her engagement to Devin, during the After the Final Rose episode, she disclosed that Devin had broken up with her and they were no longer a couple.
Following the finale, Devin Strader shared a now-deleted Instagram video explaining the reasons behind the breakup. Currently, he is focusing on his transportation service company, F1 Freight Consultants.

Devin Strader, the winner of The Bachelorette Season 21, ended his relationship with Jenn after the show concluded. He had shown her love and support during the season, but things changed post-engagement.
After remaining silent for a period following the news, Devin addressed fans in an Instagram video (now deleted) where he revealed that Jenn’s connection with Marcus played a significant role in his decision to break up. Devin watched their interactions on the show, which confirmed his feelings of being second best in Jenn’s eyes.
He expressed:
“I had to clearly watch myself play second to someone else, and that’s okay, you know, we moved on from that. I wasn’t her first choice.”
Though Devin acknowledged understanding Jenn’s feelings for Marcus, he emphasized that he was unaware of those feelings throughout their relationship:
“You know, I don’t fault her for the feelings that she had towards Marcus, but, you know, I wasn’t informed of that even during our relationship,”he stated.
Devin also addressed the criticism he received regarding his emotional distance from Jenn after their engagement. He maintained that he was confident that breaking up was the right choice and acknowledged that he might have appeared emotionally detached in the final weeks but clarified that it was unintentional:
“You know, I felt like I had made the right choice. So, yeah, maybe I was a little bit more calloused leading up to the last couple weeks, but it wasn’t intentional.”
His intention with the Instagram video was to provide clarity about his feelings, but it has since been removed from his account.
Jenn Discusses Her Experience in The Bachelorette Season 21 Finale
During the After the Final Rose segment, Jenn was visibly emotional as she recounted her breakup with Devin. She explained that after getting engaged in Hawaii, they initially felt joyous.
However, with time, Jenn expressed that Devin began to distance himself from her. She revealed that Devin ended their relationship during a brief 15-minute phone call, in which he confessed no longer loving her and regretting their engagement. Despite Jenn’s desire to navigate their issues together, Devin was not interested in continuing their relationship.
The finale of The Bachelorette Season 21 aired on September 3, 2024, on ABC, and the series is available for streaming on Hulu.
