“That’s Awful” — Love After Lockup Fans React to Latisha’s Actions Distressing Her Daughter

The latest episode of Love After Lockup premiered on Friday, September 20, 2024, showcasing the lives of the cast members as they adjust to life after incarceration while trying to avoid legal troubles. Despite their desire to turn the page, some individuals faced challenges in achieving their goals.

In a prior installment, Latisha found out that the paralegal team handedling Keith’s case had allegedly tricked her into thinking that his sentence could be reduced by eight months. She was heartbroken to discover that inmates pretending to be paralegals had deceived her with fabricated legal changes.

During the most recent episode, Latisha shared the disappointing news with her daughters. Among them, her youngest, Jakhira, experienced the strongest emotional reaction and cried in her mother’s arms upon learning she wouldn’t be able to meet Keith. Fans of Love After Lockup expressed their discontent on X, criticizing Latisha for not safeguarding her daughter’s feelings and allowing her to form an emotional bond with someone in prison.

“Latisha got this girl crying over a criminal and calling him daddy. That’s awful,”a fan remarked.

“This baby doesn’t deserve the life Latisha is forcing on her. Not just the lies with Keith, but all her scams and evictions are detrimental to her mental health,”another user stated.

“I hope this idiot realizes the damage she’s inflicted on her kids,”another netizen tweeted.

Many fans of Love After Lockup condemned Latisha for her choices that negatively affected her daughters’ lives.

“I’m upset about how she got this baby crying over some strange man who isn’t getting out of jail!!! Triflin!!!!!!”a viewer reacted.

“She’s such a terrible mother for getting her daughter emotionally invested in a convict who is NOT HER FATHER,”another commented.

“Latisha, this falls on you. You chose to make your kids have a prison daddy. It doesn’t affect your oldest daughter because she’s smarter than you. Stop lying to your kids about your eviction,”a user expressed.

“I hate how concerned and emotional this child is about a stranger. Latisha didn’t protect that child at all,”one netizen tweeted.

In contrast, Love After Lockup fans noticed that Latisha’s eldest daughter, Nariyah, seemed indifferent to the situation.

“The look you give when you’re exhausted from your mama’s drama that you’ve dealt with your whole life; she should just live with her dad, who seems more mentally stable than Latisha,”a user tweeted.

“Latisha’s oldest daughter appears so unamused; she doesn’t care about that man,”another reacted.

Latisha Knew the News About Keith Would Hurt Her Youngest Daughter

Latisha gathered her daughters, Jakhira and Nariyah, to deliver the news concerning Keith’s delayed release. Aware of Jakhira’s strong connection to him, Latisha understood that this announcement would be painful.

“I’m about to break my youngest daughter’s heart telling her that Keith is not coming home anytime soon,”Latisha expressed.

Throughout the series, Latisha shared that Keith had been a more present figure for her daughters than their biological father, helping the family even from prison, which led to an emotional bond forming between six-year-old Jakhira and Keith.

Jakhira became tearful at the news of Keith’s postponed homecoming. Although Latisha felt remorseful for not shielding her children from this emotional upheaval, she noted Jakhira’s continual request to see Keith each morning. Meanwhile, Nariyah, who lacked a relationship with Keith, displayed no visible emotion.

Latisha then revealed their plans to move to a new home due to ongoing disputes with their current residence. She encouraged her daughters by saying, “We’re a family; we have to face this together,”hoping for a “fresh start”in a different environment.
