“Escape Now” — Love After Lockup Fans Urge Troy to Leave Zeruiah

The latest episode of Love After Lockup season 5, episode 39, premiered on WeTV on September 19, 2024. This installment featured the couple, Zeruiah and Troy, continuing their heated conflict from the previous episode.

In the earlier episode, Zeruiah expressed her anger towards Troy’s mother, Karen, for bringing up Zeruiah’s past cheating scandal in front of Yona, Troy’s ex. While Troy was incarcerated, Zeruiah was involved with another man, which she had since apologized for and reconciled with Troy. However, when Karen mentioned the incident to Yona, Zeruiah reacted angrily, throwing her engagement ring and demanding that both Troy and Karen leave her home.

During episode 39, Troy made efforts to reconcile with Zeruiah by trying to convince her to wear her engagement ring again and offering an apology to diffuse the situation. Once she calmed down, Zeruiah agreed to accompany Troy to Buffalo to meet his daughter, whom he shares with Yona, despite initially hesitating to see Yona.

Love After Lockup fans took to X to voice their concerns regarding Zeruiah’s behavior towards Troy, suggesting that he should leave her. Some viewers expressed worries that she may lead Troy back into trouble.

Some fans of Love After Lockup found it unfair that Zeruiah wanted Troy to parent her child while being uncomfortable with him fulfilling the same role for his daughter with Yona.

What unfolded between Troy and Zeruiah in episode 39 of Love After Lockup season 5?

Following their confrontation in the previous episode of Love After Lockup, Troy attempted to persuade Zeruiah to accept the engagement ring again. In a confessional, he expressed his surprise at how angry Zeruiah had become. He then tried discussing the matter with her, apologizing for leaving during the time his mother was unfairly bringing up Zeruiah’s past with his child’s mother.

Eventually, Zeruiah changed her mind and agreed to join Troy and his mother in Buffalo to see his daughter. Her primary motivation was to demonstrate their strength as a couple to Yona and the rest of Troy’s family.

When Zeruiah met with Troy’s sister, Jackie, she shared her emotional experience of seeing her brother released from prison. Zeruiah expressed in a confessional that being present for such moments was heartwarming, although she remained uncertain about Yona’s intentions due to recent discussions with Karen.
