5 Reality Shows Like Sister Wives
1) My Five Wives
In response to the popularity of Sister Wives, TLC introduced another polygamist reality show titled My Five Wives in 2013. This series follows Brady Williams, his five spouses, and their 24 children living together near Salt Lake City.
Each episode offers an honest look into the challenges faced by the Williams family, highlighting issues such as jealousy and loneliness while they strive to maintain their familial bond amidst numerous complexities.
Despite following a similar premise, this show did not achieve the same level of popularity as Sister Wives and concluded after two seasons. Both seasons of the show are available for streaming on Discovery+.
2) Seeking Sister Wife
Seeking Sister Wife is another TLC reality series that parallels Sister Wives. It features the lives of three distinct families as they prepare to welcome a new Sister Wife into their existing relationships.

3) Three Wives, One Husband
Three Wives, One Husband chronicles the lives of 14 fundamentalist Mormon families housed in a communal setting in Rockland Ranch, Utah. Here, these families embrace a polyamorous way of life, living according to their own principles.
Approximately half of the men within this community partake in polygamy, embracing multiple wives. Launched in 2017, this four-part series intimately explores the dynamics of modern polygamous families. It can be purchased on Apple TV and is available on Prime Video and Tubi TV in select areas.
4) Escaping Polygamy
Shifting focus within the realm of polygamy, Escaping Polygamy illuminates a different narrative. This series features three sisters—Andrea, Jessica, and Shanell—who have escaped their polygamous lives, premiering in 2014.
Throughout the series, the sisters extend support to others seeking to flee their abusive polyamorous situations. A&E’s Escaping Polygamy is available to stream on Discovery+.
5) Polygamy, USA
Polygamy, USA adopts a more serious tone compared to Sister Wives. This six-part series produced by National Geographic explores the polyamorous lives of the Cawleys, Hammons, and Thompsons, who face the unique challenges inherent in their lifestyle.
The series synopsis reads:
“Come along and see how the Polygamists of Centennial Park live. Join the Thompsons, Hammons, and Cawleys as they each have their ups and downs and share with you how life in a Polygamist situation really is.”
Polygamy, USA sheds light on the often-unseen aspects of living within a polygamous structure. The six-part series is available for viewing on Prime Video.
