Love & Marriage Detroit Episode 3: Kristina Reflects on the “Disconnect”with LaToya

In this week’s episode of Love & Marriage Detroit, the focus was on Kristina and LaToya as they attempted to reconcile their differences. By the episode’s conclusion, both the Thompsons and Smiths participated in a knocker ball event aimed at diffusing the tension between the two couples.

Brandon and Anthony had already shaken hands and established a truce, hoping their wives would follow suit and resolve their issues.

Brandon questioned Kristina and LaToya about whether they had any common ground to help rebuild their relationship and “move forward.”Kristina took the initiative, stating that the “disconnect”began when they were labeled as fake at a skating rink during a previous episode.

“I think for me… the disconnect was after the whole calling us out as fake,”Kristina explained.

Kristina conveyed to LaToya that the accusation of being “fake”felt like a personal attack. However, LaToya was not willing to retract her comments, asserting instead that she was just stating the truth.

“We can go back and forth about it all day. It is what it is,”LaToya replied.

Kristina elaborated, recalling LaToya’s remarks following the skating rink incident. The Love & Marriage Detroit star accused LaToya of making manipulative claims at a birthday party. LaToya, on her part, insisted she couldn’t recall making such statements. Kristina responded in her confessional with Brandon:

“I think all that knocker ball gave LaToya amnesia. Because all of a sudden she doesn’t remember anyyyy thing that she said.”

Despite their discussions, Kristina pointed out that they failed to reach a consensus. She noted that LaToya had brought Kimberly Reese to dinner, who echoed the same sentiments LaToya expressed.

“We clearly can’t ever come to common ground about it. But when we had dinner and you brought Kimberly with you, Kimberly said the same exact verbiage.”

Citing Kimberly’s allegations, Kristina quoted:

“Kristina is manipulative… Kristina is conniving.”

LaToya retorted that they were not the only ones making such remarks about Kristina, indicating that others shared similar opinions. Brandon interjected, questioning if multiple people were speaking negatively about Kristina, then why had nobody mentioned what she did wrong.

In response, LaToya remarked:

“Let’s talk about history and your reputation in Detroit. What you are known for, one is… yes, manipulation. That’s what people have said about you.”

Kristina felt dissatisfied with LaToya’s response and probed who these people were that criticized her. However, LaToya was unable to provide any names.
