The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras has aired five episodes since its premiere on August 14 on MTV and Paramount+. This season features a mix of returning and new contestants, with 40 competitors divided into four groups called ‘Eras.’ The grand prize for the winner of The Challenge 40 is a whopping $1 million.
Throughout the episodes, fans have enjoyed the familiar competitive spirit coupled with exciting twists and turns. With 14 contestants already eliminated, only 26 remain in the running. The show is hosted by TJ Lavin, who shepherds the contestants through a variety of challenges.
From Tony’s shocking elimination in episode 3 to veteran contestant CT being sent home in episode 5, the competition has remained unpredictable and thrilling.
14 Contestants Eliminated from The Challenge 40
1) Amanda Garcia (Episode 2)
Amanda was the first contestant eliminated in episode 2 of The Challenge 40 after facing off against Nia from Era 3. The challenge chosen was “Balls In,”where Nia’s size advantage proved decisive, leading to Amanda’s elimination with a score of 2-1.
2) Leroy Garrett (Episode 2)
Also eliminated in episode 2 was Leroy from Era 3, who competed in the “Balls In”challenge against Tony. Prior to their matchup, Tony expressed his excitement to go head-to-head with a friend. Ultimately, Tony won both rounds, sending Leroy home.
3) Mark Long (Episode 2)
In a surprising upset, Mark faced Derrick in the “Poll Wrestle”challenge, where Derrick emerged victoriously despite being much smaller in stature.
4) Katie Cooley (Episode 2)
Katie went up against Aneesa to determine who would leave the show. Using a strategy to leverage her size advantage, Katie attempted to wear Aneesa down, but ultimately, Aneesa eliminated her without much struggle.
5) Paulie Calafiore (Episode 2)
In a contentious matchup, Paulie faced Theo in the “Hall Brawl,”with personal tensions already high between them. Theo’s size played a critical role, as he won both rounds decisively.
6) Nurys Mateo (Episode 2)
Nurys faced off against Olivia in the girls’ “Hall Brawl.”Despite a strong effort, Nurys could not claim victory as Olivia dominated both rounds, eliminating her from The Challenge 40.
7) KellyAnne Judd (Episode 2)
During episode 2, KellyAnne faced Cara Maria in “Take Shelter,”but she couldn’t overcome Cara and consequently exited the competition.
8) Brandon Nelson (Episode 2)
In a parallel challenge, Brandon went up against Ryan in “Take Shelter.”Ultimately, Ryan’s mental gameplay secured his victory over Brandon.
9) Tony Raines (Episode 3)
Tony’s elimination drew mixed reactions from his teammates after he opted to compete in the elimination round himself. He faced Darrell in “One Step at a Time” but unfortunately lost.
10) Jodi Weatherton (Episode 3)
Jodi faced Averey, stating that her anxiety was at “11.”This overwhelming stress led to her elimination, as she was sent home by Averey.
11) Horacio Gutierrez Jr. (Episode 4)
During the “Pick It Up”challenge, Horacio and Jenny competed against Derrick & Aneesa. Horacio was ultimately bested by Derrick during this competition.
12) Aneesa Ferreira (Episode 4)
Aneesa faced Jenny in “Pick It Up”as well but lost by a close score of 40-37, resulting in her elimination.
13) CT Tamburello (Episode 5)
In episode 5, CT faced Nehemiah while Tina contended against Emily. CT struggled in the challenge “Getting Hammered”and was unable to defeat Kyland, leading to his elimination.
14) Emily Schromm (Episode 5)
Emily was eliminated in episode 5 after losing to Tina, who managed to establish an early lead and secure her victory.
