Omar attempted to instill fear into Hamzad’s family and the local village, but he could not escape the reckoning that awaited him. While Khadija had Omar surrounded by her armed followers, she had no significant strategy and simply stalled for time until a miracle occurred.

Unexpectedly, Khadija’s son, Tarik, arrived via helicopter, pretending to be an envoy from The Ministry to prevent the escalating conflict between the factions. While he effectively diverted the immediate danger, Omar remained fixated on uncovering why Hamzad secretly abducted an FBI agent.

As Omar prepared to leave, he tried to gather information about the mysterious guest from Farouk, Faruza’s son. The boy, aware of the peril surrounding him and mature enough to keep a secret, struck Omar and attempted to escape but was quickly apprehended. This led Faruza to rush toward her child in a bid to save him, but tragically, she lost her life in the process.

With gunfire erupting between Omar’s followers and the villagers, Hamzad appeared unexpectedly, accompanied by Emily, who decided to reveal herself. It was Emily who fatally stabbed Omar, after unveiling her identity as Parwana Hamzad.

After all of Omar’s men were killed, thanks to Harold’s intervention, Omar was still alive, crawling in a desperate attempt to escape. However, Emily, grief-stricken by the loss of Faruza and the attack on the village, found Omar and executed him by shooting him twice in the back of the head.

As previously mentioned, Tarik is the son of Khadija and the nephew of Hamzad. Currently, there is limited information about this new character, but considering the events of The Old Man season 2 episode 3, he seems to be intricately linked to the ongoing storyline from the first season.

Tarik was associated with Morgan Boote and was involved in the deal to capture Dan Chase, which he disclosed to his mother. However, following the kidnapping of Parwana/Emily, one of the FBI agents, Boote froze their assets, putting them in a precarious situation.

As the narrative unfolds, Tarik is set to play a significant role in Dan Chase’s future. In the series, Tarik is portrayed by Amir Malaklou, known for his roles in acclaimed titles like Evil, The Endgame, and Viper Club.

While the reasons behind Emily’s decision to assist Hamzad remain ambiguous, it’s apparent that, as her biological father, she felt compelled to intervene when he faced surrender to Omar. Throughout her time with Hamzad, Emily came to understand that he harbored no malicious intentions and viewed her more as a daughter than an FBI agent.

On their way to the village, Hamzad told Emily it was not her fight and bid her farewell, parting ways with his daughter whom he had reunited with after 30 years. Acting on her instincts, Emily followed him to the village, ultimately embracing her true identity as Parwana Hamzad.

The Old Man season 2 episode 3 concluded with Emily standing in silence as she gazed at the village after killing Omar, a poignant scene that encapsulated the heavy burden of her choice and the irreversible shift in her identity.
