Venom 3: Exploring Knull’s Powers, Abilities, and Weaknesses

The first installment of the Venom trilogy premiered in 2018, followed by the release of the sequel in 2021. Both films were met with rave reviews, as fans worldwide celebrated the dynamic chemistry between the lead character, Eddie Brock, and the symbiote Venom. The duo’s ability to navigate their tumultuous connection while battling villains was particularly praised. In the inaugural film, they faced off against Drake and Riot, whereas in the sequel, they took down the serial killer Cletus Kasady and his symbiote Carnage. Just when we thought the symbiotic threats had ended, another emerged in the form of Toxin, which took Detective Patrick Mulligan as its host.

While the early trailers for Venom: The Last Dance hinted at the challenges Eddie and Venom would encounter, the final trailer unveiled the film’s primary antagonist: the menacing Marvel villain Knull. As we await the film’s release later this year, let’s delve into Knull’s origins, powers, and abilities.

In a time when darkness reigned and light was nonexistent, Knull emerged as one of the most malevolent deities. The Celestials eventually discovered his realm of darkness and attempted to fill it with light, hoping to persuade Knull to assume guardianship of the universe. However, Knull rejected their proposal and declared war against them. In his rage, he unearthed a tremendous power known as the Living Abyss on Gorr’s home planet, utilizing it to create the very first symbiote. He forged this symbiote into a weapon, ultimately using it to slay a Celestial.

Knull’s long conquest across the universe showcased him as a figure of terror; not only was he feared by countless beings, but even the gods dared not confront him.

Knull: Powers and Abilities

As the ruthless ruler of the Marvel Cosmic universe, Knull’s powers and abilities cannot be underestimated. As a being predating time itself and all other deities, he embodies terror incarnate. After vanquishing the first Celestial with a proto-symbiote, he utilized the energy from its corpse to forge the formidable Necrosword, granting him immense power that surpassed even that of other gods.

With the All-Black weapon in his arsenal, Knull effortlessly decapitated a Celestial and could take on vast armies of gods without breaking a sweat. When it comes to durability, even powerful blasts from the Celestials failed to inflict significant damage upon him. Notably, Knull never underwent formal training to refine his combat skills, yet his prowess in dismantling entire legions of adversaries is unparalleled.

Knull possesses the ability to manipulate dark energy, launching destructive beams from his hands. With billions of years of existence, Knull is a Cosmic entity who cannot be permanently defeated. After Eddie Brock managed to disintegrate him, seriously injuring him and sending him tumbling to Earth from space, Knull ultimately recovered, although it took him several centuries to do so.

Even the most formidable beings have weaknesses, and Knull is no exception. As a deity of darkness, he is exceptionally sensitive to light. This vital life force, essential to all living creatures, causes him considerable pain.

Moreover, when a symbiote experiences an injury during remote piloting, Knull can also sustain damage from the same source. Knull originally harnessed Celestial energy from a deceased Celestial’s brain to forge the powerful Necrosword, so the loss of this connection impacted his strength once the Valkyries severed it.

As of now, details regarding the actor playing this ultimate villain in the Venom franchise remain shrouded in mystery.
