Gameplay of Monster Hunter Wilds Reveals the Return of Congalala

During the Tokyo Game Show, Capcom organized an exciting watch party for Monster Hunter Wilds, highlighting gameplay from its hands-on demo. This event was rich with information, showcasing the game’s impressive 60 frames per second performance on the PS5. Additionally, the reveal of a new monster, Congalala, captivated fans.

Congalala first appeared in Monster Hunter 2 as a Fanged Beast that generally keeps to itself. However, trespassing into its territory will provoke a fierce response, and it has a berserk mode similar to Rajang. With the introduction of the new Herd system in Monster Hunter Wilds, players will also encounter smaller variants of Congalala.

Other exciting features revealed include Venus fly traps that can consume birds and the Wudwud tribe, known for trading items and preparing meals for players. As an interesting gameplay mechanic, monster corpses will decompose into bone piles that can later be searched for useful resources. Furthermore, fans of Monster Hunter World will be delighted to hear that Decorations will return as rewards for successful hunts.

Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on February 28th, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
