Valorant VCT Ascension Pacific 2024: Thrilling Comebacks, Intense Moments, and Exciting Gameplay!

The highly-anticipated VCT Ascension Pacific 2024 unfolded in the vibrant city of Jakarta from September 20 to September 29, 2024, where I was fortunate enough to experience the thrilling conclusion of the playoffs. My objective was straightforward: immerse myself in the electric atmosphere alongside hundreds of Valorant enthusiasts gathered to witness the pinnacle of the region’s Ascension series for this season.

Before my journey began, Boom Esports, the homegrown Indonesian squad, had faced elimination, landing them in the Lower Bracket. I carried a hint of worry about the local audience’s morale if their favored team faltered before reaching the Grand Final. However, Boom’s relentless pursuit of victory propelled them all the way to the brink of the finals where they ultimately fell just short.

But I’ll elaborate more on that later.

Armed with a media pass, I eagerly made my way into the Britama Arena on September 27, 2024, to witness the Upper Bracket Final featuring Sin Prisa Gaming and Full Sense. Sin Prisa Gaming had already established themselves as a leading contender by eliminating Boom Esports earlier in the tournament.

This was my inaugural visit to a VCT event, and I was captivated by the innovative stage setup by Riot Games. The striking cyan theme of the Pacific region shone brilliantly, complemented by large overhead screens that ensured every spectator, regardless of their seat, could follow the action clearly. During the Upper Bracket Final, Sin Prisa Gaming demonstrated overwhelming prowess, clinching the match with scores of 13-6 and an astonishing 13-0, securing their place in the Grand Final.

Initially, the audience’s energy seemed a bit muted, but I soon realized they were merely warming up for the thrilling moments to come. The following battle was a tense clash between Boom Esports and Riddle in the Lower Bracket Semifinals. The stadium resonated with the rhythmic banging of drums as the hometown team stepped onto the stage, and chants of “Boom Esports”filled the air. Boom emerged victorious with a solid 2-0 sweep.

SPG Clinches Victory While Boom Esports Fights Valiantly

The Lower Bracket Final saw Boom Esports secure their chance to compete in the Grand Final with a decisive 3-1 win over Full Sense. After the match, I had a moment to chat with Ewok, who indicated that the Grand Final was Sin Prisa Gaming’s to lose, while Boom’s coach, meow, assured fans that they would present a different challenge in the finals.

On September 30, 2024, the Grand Final commenced, preceded by a captivating showcase where Team f0rsakeN faced off against Team xccurate. With that concluded, the stage was set for the ultimate clash for a spot in VCT Pacific 2025. A buzz of anticipation filled the Britama Arena, overflowing with fervent Boom Esports supporters.

Sin Prisa Gaming started strong, taking the first two maps decisively with scores of 13-6 and 13-10. However, Boom Esports rallied back on Lotus, edging out a win at 14-12, before claiming victory on Haven with a 13-10 score. Each successful round from Boom ignited euphoric cheers from the crowd, who erupted with chants of “Amazing”and “Boom Esports.”

The final map, Bind, concluded in heart-stopping overtime, where neither team could claim dominance. The decisive moment occurred when SPG’s Brimstone delivered a crucial last-second kill as they thwarted Boom Esports’ player attempting to defuse the bomb.

A wave of silence fell over the arena as spectators comprehended the result. Nevertheless, it was inspiring to witness the crowd remaining to cheer and applaud SPG as they hoisted the VCT Ascension Pacific 2024 trophy.
