BTS’ Namjoon Achieves Milestone as Youngest Korean Artist with Most KOMCA Credits Following “Domodachi (ft. Little Simz)” Inclusion

Kim Namjoon, known as RM of BTS, set a remarkable milestone on September 16, 2024, as he retained his title as the youngest artist with the most accolades from the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA). With the recent addition of “Domodachi”(featuring Little Simz) from his latest album, Right Place Wrong Person, he now boasts a total of 229 credits.

For those unfamiliar, the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) is a non-profit organization in South Korea that protects the rights of copyright holders in the music industry.

In the history of KOMCA, RM has become the youngest credited songwriter and the second-most credited artist, following VIXX’s Ravi. His songwriting credits span two tracks for former BigHit Entertainment (now HYBE) labelmate Glam prior to their disbandment, contributions to various collaborations, as well as his work with BTS.

Namjoon released his inaugural mixtape, RM, on SoundCloud on March 20, 2015, adopting his previous stage name, “Rap Monster.”This mixtape features 11 tracks, including “Voice,””Awakening,””Good Rap,””Adrift,”and “Monster.”

In March 2018, Namjoon teased his second mixtape, mono, through BTS’ X account. It was officially released on October 23, 2018, and included an animated music video for “Forever Rain,”along with additional tracks such as “Moonchild,””Badbye,””Uhgood,””Seoul,”and “Everythingoes.”

Namjoon has also penned numerous songs for BTS and a variety of other artists, including international stars like the late JUICE WRLD. He has collaborated with TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT), Gaeko, Coldplay, and others.
