Nipsey Hussle’s Death: Lauren London Opens Up About Coping with Grief Five Years After Losing Her Partner

Lauren London recently opened up about the profound loss of rapper Nipsey Hussle, reflecting on his tragic passing five years ago in 2019. The rapper was fatally shot outside his clothing store in South Los Angeles on March 31, 2019.

In an interview with Radhi Devlukia on the A Really Good Cry podcast on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, the actress candidly expressed that she still “felt like a mess.”Discussing her ongoing journey with grief, London shared:

“I guess I have to ask my friends how far I’ve come because I still genuinely feel like I have not arrived anywhere.”

She elaborated:

“I feel like I’m really heavy a lot, but again, I have to counter that to just, like, the grace of God, because if it was up to me, I would be sliding in here on my stomach, but I also don’t want to take away from the work that I’ve done from then until now. So, I don’t wanna do that, ’cause I’m good at doing that.”

For those unfamiliar, Ermias Joseph Asghedom, better known as Nipsey Hussle, was a rapper and activist who gained prominence in the mid-2000s. London and Hussle were in a relationship from 2013 until his untimely death in March 2019, and they share a son, Kross Ermias Asghedom, who was born in 2016.

“He spoke a lot about… I’m in my cave, in a homebody, that he (was) like, ‘People really need to hear from you. You have a lot of truth you should share.’

London also mentioned that she “hears”Nipsey’s music in a different light since his death.

This year, on the fifth anniversary of his passing, Lauren London commemorated Nipsey Hussle with a heartfelt tribute post on her Instagram.
