MAGA’s ‘Kamala Blackface’ Rhetoric Shows Hypocrisy as Donald Trump Remains Orange

Supporters of Donald Trump seem to be caught in a whirlwind of contradictions. The MAGA movement has reached a point where they are incessantly accusing Kamala Harris, the daughter of a Black father, of exhibiting blackface during her campaign. Let’s not forget, Donald Trump famously dyes his skin orange. It’s time to face reality.

For reasons that remain unclear, proponents of MAGA have strongly embraced this narrative. They aim to portray Harris as disingenuous, while in truth, she is merely sharing her authentic background. One prominent figure promoting this accusation is Candace Owens. Through her usage of the hashtag “Kamala Blackface,” Owens insinuates that Harris is claiming to be Black purely for political gain.

“Kamala Race Hoax is trending. We won’t let this go. Her campaign must respond,” Owens declared. She further claimed, “This is the most deceitful political tactic I’ve ever witnessed. She has orchestrated a literal minstrel show of a campaign.”

The Left’s backlash has persistently pointed out a striking fact: Trump colors his complexion orange. It felt absurd for anyone to criticize someone fabricating their identity when Trump himself displays an outrageous makeup routine. The general sentiment seems to reflect that it’s simply… ridiculous. “Definitely the most embarrassing MAGA hashtag to date.”

As one insightful netizen pointed out, this behavior is perplexing considering Trump resembles a wood stain.

It baffles me. Harris has done nothing wrong in acknowledging her identity as a Black woman. She is indeed a product of her background—her mother is Indian and her father is Black. As one individual aptly highlighted, “Picture accusing a woman, born to a Black father and an Indian mother, of blackface while supporting a pale-skinned individual who douses himself in varnish every day.”

This is odd behavior

At this juncture, the desperation among MAGA supporters is palpable. This appears to be the only explanation for their frantic search for flaws in Harris, attempting to sway public opinion against her. But how does denying her heritage serve any purpose? It’s as if they fail to recognize that individuals often embody multiple ethnic identities.

“Also, you realize that people can embody more than one identity simultaneously, right? She can identify as both Indian and Black, not just one,” one user pointed out, summarizing the core issue. I’ll share my own experience as a white person; I have Italian and Scottish roots. My father is Scottish, and my mother is Italian. Both aspects shape my identity, and there’s nothing wrong with honoring and respecting them simultaneously.

That’s exactly what Harris does when she cherishes her mother and father’s legacies. Given the support for a man who resembles someone who has submerged himself in orange makeup, this behavior from MAGA supporters is truly bizarre. Perhaps they should focus on why he feels the need to appear as unnaturally orange as he does. The question remains: WHO is naturally orange? The behavior from MAGA supporters is odd when Trump’s complexion resembles Pantone 1575 c.
