‘Our Victory is Too Big to Rig’: Donald Trump’s Shift on Early Voting Explained

I can recall when the prevailing conspiracy theory among Donald Trump’s supporters was that the election outcome was manipulated due to early voting and mail-in ballots. While that was just a few years ago, it feels significantly longer. Now, it appears that Trump has shifted his perspective.

Supporters of Trump and the MAGA movement are now introduced to a novel propaganda initiative called “Swamp the Vote.” The aim is to “ensure we win by a margin exceeding the Margin of Fraud”through early voting. Essentially, this push is merely about encouraging voter turnout, which is not a unique concept to Republicans or MAGA supporters. It fundamentally revolves around the importance of having one’s vote counted.

The website for Swamp the Vote states, “We require EVERYONE to mobilize to overcome Kamala Harris and the wealthy fraud mechanisms of the far-left.” They are calling for a deluge of votes to ensure victory that is “TOO BIG TO RIG.”It’s quite absurd, considering that this narrative stems from Trump’s ongoing claims that the Left resorts to cheating. Let us not forget, he once held the presidency by a narrow margin. We need to keep things in perspective.

Included on the site is a video featuring the former president, where he insists on the necessity of voting early to combat potential fraud—though the logic remains elusive. In the video, he warns, “Stay vigilant because they are eager to cheat, and frankly, cheating is their only strong suit.”He further emphasizes that MAGA needs to “swamp”the opposition.

Trump asserts, “The strategy to win is to overpower them with our votes. If we overwhelm the system, the cheating cannot happen.” It’s unclear what that precisely entails, but it seems to suggest an encouragement to vote early—though what he truly means by that is anyone’s guess.

The Logic Behind Swamp the Vote is Flawed

The concept appears to advocate for amassing as many votes for Trump as possible ahead of election day to prevent the Left from “rigging”the process. However, the reality is straightforward: if a candidate lacks sufficient votes, they simply fall short. The choice of the term “swamp”might imply an onslaught on the counters of the vote, yet it also sounds as if you’re rallying swamp-lovers to support your cause.

Interestingly, the platform distinguishes between Trump voters and Republicans. “Your participation is crucial to ensure we surpass the Margin of Fraud by voting early and ensuring every Trump supporter in your home votes as well,” reads a statement on the site.

Ultimately, “Swamp the Vote” is simply a resource aimed at informing voters. It lacks any profound strategy from the Trump campaign and doesn’t signal an innovative breakthrough. It took them a couple of election cycles to discover the potential advantages of guiding people on how to vote early.

It’s ironic how Trump has altered his stance on early and mail-in voting when it appears advantageous to him. Personally, I would love to witness another defeat for him amidst all these efforts. So, if you’re puzzled about what “Swamp the Vote” actually entails, it’s quite simply a realization by Trump’s team that his supporters may need guidance on how to vote ahead of time.
