“SEE YOU NEXT MONTH”— BTS’ J-Hope Shares Letter and Photo on Weverse as Fans Celebrate One Month Until Military Discharge

On September 17, 2024, BTS’ Jung Ho-seok, popularly known as J-hope, provided an update on his military service through Weverse while also extending his wishes for a Happy Chuseok to his fans. With his military discharge just a month away, the idol penned a heartfelt letter reflecting on his experiences during his service and what it means to him as this chapter of his life nears its conclusion.

After enlisting in April 2023, the rapper and dancer shared that with 30 days left, he has developed a deep attachment to his military experience. He talked about organizing his belongings and passing some of his favorite items to his successors, which has brought him a sense of empowerment and nostalgia.

“A month. Exactly 30 days! Time originally only felt cruel, but now I’ve started to grow fond of it, and it feels affectionate. I organized my stuff, and I’ve handed out the items I used well to my successors. Now, seeing the empty locker/storage makes my feelings grow even deeper,”his letter, as translated by X user @miiniyoongs, stated.

Along with the letter, J-hope posted a mirror selfie wearing a black Republic of Korea Army (R.O.K.A) shirt and military pants, with his jacket casually draped over one arm. Fans eagerly took to social media, counting down the days until his anticipated discharge on October 17, 2024. One user on X, @KookiesFIower, expressed their excitement by tweeting:

“SEE YOU NEXT MONTH!! ALEXA PLAY ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE BY MCFLY. The worst is over, and the sky is clear. And there’s not a place on earth I’d rather be than hereeee.”

Others echoed similar sentiments, sharing their anticipation for his return.

“Our man, our sunshine, our hope, and our sergeant is coming home,”a fan wrote.

“It feels so good to hear this,”commented another user.

“He is serving while serving without leaving crumbs….CAN’T WAIT FOR YOU, SEE YOU SOON HOBI MY LOVE,”another user remarked.

“I’m literally gonna cry; I can’t wait,”a person wrote.

Fans flooded the comments lauding J-hope’s health and appearance during his military service.

“Bro, this is lethal; I’m legit dying. I can’t take it anymore,”a fan mentioned.

“He’s getting so buff; I can’t,”another X user commented.

“I hope fall arrives soon”— J-hope reflects on military life and sends Chuseok wishes in his latest Weverse letter

In his latest Weverse letter, J-hope candidly shared his feelings of nervousness and anxiety, pondering why he worried so much at the beginning of his service when, in retrospect, there was little to be concerned about.

He humorously recalled how even the simple sound of a locker opening would make him tense during his initial service days. However, he now takes pride in his growth and can relish his moments of rest, especially during the holidays.

As he penned his message during Chuseok, J-hope wished his fans a happy and prosperous ‘Hangawi.’ He noted the importance of this holiday as it marked exactly 30 days until his anticipated military discharge.

“That’s why I came to say hello to you during Chuseok. But coincidentally, today is exactly 30 days left,”his letter illustrated.

Looking forward to the fall season, the rapper expressed his hope that the autumn leaves would symbolize peace and relaxation in his mind. He concluded his letter with a reminder for fans to take good care of themselves.

J-hope serves as a drill instructor in the military and is scheduled to be discharged on October 17, 2024.
