Selling Sunset season 8 premiered all 11 episodes simultaneously on September 6, 2024. This latest chapter of the reality series, which focuses on the Oppenheim Group, presented various storylines, including a controversial one involving Nicole Young as she discussed Emma Hernan‘s alleged affair with a married man.

Although Nicole did not directly confront Emma regarding the rumor, she articulated her concerns on multiple occasions, notably in a scene with Amanza Smith, Mary Fitzgerald, and Alanna Gold, which was also highlighted in the show’s trailer. Following the trailer’s release, Nicole faced criticism from her co-stars Chelsea Lazkani and Chrishell Stause for her comments on social media.

Despite not engaging in the online drama, Nicole shared her thoughts on the feud during a recent interview with Netflix’s Tudum on September 16, 2024. She expressed that social media conflicts are draining and that she preferred not to participate.

“Not a good look for anyone,”she stated.

Nicole acknowledged the intensity of the situation, expressing her desire for the audience to form their own opinions when the show aired.

“I was really shocked”: Nicole Young from Selling Sunset comments on Chrishell and Chelsea’s reactions

In her recent conversation with Netflix’s Tudum, Selling Sunset season 8 cast member Nicole Young discussed her encounters with Chrishell Stause and Chelsea Lazkani. When asked about her well-being, she mentioned she was “doing okay.”

Nicole elaborated on the difficulty of always feeling defensive in the reality show landscape. She chose not to respond to Chrishell and Chelsea’s online comments, preferring to take a “backseat”until the show aired, allowing the audience to draw their own conclusions.

Speaking about the online debates, she noted they required “so much energy”and reiterated it wasn’t a “good look”for anyone involved. Recognizing the dramatic nature of their reality show, Nicole accepted that some controversy was inevitable.

She also anticipated criticism over some aspects of her participation but was taken aback by the harsh online reactions.

“But when I woke up that next morning to trash-can emojis and everything that happened from there on out, I was really shocked. It was just like, ‘OK, here we go again,’”Nicole revealed.

Furthermore, Nicole acknowledged that certain details might not be known to her fellow cast members. She emphasized the need to be “patient”and wait for the right moment to present her perspective.

Nicole also reflected on the dynamics of the cast, recalling events from season 6 when she faced accusations of drug use. She described the situation as “frustrating,”pointing out the “double standard”in reactions and how people quickly chose sides. For context, during season 6, Chrishell accused Nicole of substance abuse.

She questioned where the same intense reaction was when she faced disparaging information about herself. Further, she commented on her scene in Pioneertown with Mary Fitzgerald and Amanza Smith; Nicole noted the evident awareness Mary had when asking Amanza about the situation.

Nicole expressed confusion over why Mary would claim she was lying, asserting that the details she shared about Emma came from a trustworthy source she had known for years.

All episodes of Selling Sunset season 8 are available for streaming on Netflix.
