On Monday, September 16, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York announced the arrest of rapper Sean “Diddy”Combs. This took place amid serious allegations of s*x trafficking linked to an ongoing investigation.
The following day, September 17, a grand jury indictment reportedly released details about Combs’ arrest and the circumstances leading to it. According to NBC News, he faces several felony charges, including racketeering, s*x trafficking, and transportation for the purpose of engaging in pr*stitution.
Furthermore, The Guardian reported that during raids in March 2024, law enforcement officials confiscated narcotics and over a thousand bottles of baby oil and lubricant from Combs’ residences in Miami and Los Angeles. Sources claimed that he allegedly coerced women to participate in his so-called “freak offs,”often while under the influence of drugs and surrounded by baby oil.
According to Outkick, the indictment detailed that,
“Members and associates of the Combs Enterprise… facilitated the Freak Offs by… booking hotel rooms for the Freak Offs; stocking the hotel rooms in advance with the required Freak Off supplies, including controlled substances, baby oil, lubricant, extra linens, and lighting…”
Diddy Faces Serious Charges Following Arrest
According to NBC News, Diddy was arrested at the Park Hyatt hotel on West 57th Street. U.S. Attorney Damian Williams confirmed that federal agents detained Combs based on a sealed indictment filed by the Southern District of New York.
Court records obtained by NBC News indicate that Combs allegedly established “a criminal enterprise”involving his associates in various illegal activities such as forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.
Additionally, Diddy faces accusations of assault and of intimidating women to satisfy his s*xual desires. The indictment described him as being involved in a “persistent and pervasive pattern of abuse”towards women and other individuals, including physical violence.
As reported, Diddy, facing three felony charges, allegedly arranged for the transportation of women by providing narcotics, managing their employment, and employing violence and intimidation.
The indictment also revealed that during police searches of Combs’ homes in Miami Beach and Los Angeles, drugs along with over a thousand bottles of baby oil and lubricant were reportedly found. His associates allegedly played a role in his acts by,
“Cleaning the hotel rooms after the Freak Offs to try to mitigate room damage; arranging for travel for victims, commercial s*x workers, and COMBS to and from Freak Offs; resupplying COMBS with requested supplies; delivering large sums of cash to COMBS to pay the commercial s*x workers; and scheduling the delivery of IV fluids.”
Furthermore, the indictment also disclosed that several weapons and ammunition, including three AR-15s with defaced serial numbers, were discovered.
According to Outkick’s article from September 16, the indictment highlighted that,
“COMBS also used the sensitive, embarrassing, and incriminating recordings that he made during Freak Offs as collateral to ensure the continued obedience and silence of the victims.”
In response to the charges, Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressed concern and clarified Diddy’s intention to plead. As reported by Hollywood Life, he stated,
“He came to New York to basically engage the court system and start the case, and it will start today and he’s going to plead not guilty. He’s going to fight this with all of his energy and all of his might and the full confidence of his lawyers.”
Meanwhile, Diddy has not made any public comments following his arrest.
