The latest Feybreak update for Palworld has introduced a wealth of exciting new content, expanding the gameplay experience significantly. Players can now delve into the game with fresh Pals, enhanced mechanics, and a variety of new weapons. Among the most notable additions are challenging raids, new buildings, and formidable tower bosses. The introduction of the Feybreak territory within the Sakurajima area is particularly noteworthy, as this expansive zone is approximately six times larger than the original game area, offering a plethora of new materials to collect, notably Chromite. This expansion opens up numerous opportunities for players to explore new aspects of base-building and Pal upgrades.
The update also brings additional consumables and crafting materials, making resource management even more critical, especially for those diving into the new hardcore mode. Among the intriguing new features is the inclusion of metal detectors, which allow players to uncover buried metal seams in specific areas. Chromite shines as one of the primary metals to discover within the Feybreak region.
How to Locate Chromite in Palworld
Metal Detector Essentials
In Palworld, Chromite has emerged as a valuable and farmable resource. A key requirement for harvesting this metal is that players must reach Level 56 to utilize the Metal Detector. This tool is essential for detecting hidden ores nearby; once you approach a deposit, it emits a puff of gray smoke and marks the site. Players can extract up to 90 pieces of Chromite from a single mining node, which is accessible through the Technology Screen.
Additionally, players can enlist the help of a new canine Pal named Smokie, who can both detect and mine Chromite for them. The prime locations for harvesting Chromite are found in the caves throughout Feybreak Island. Notably, if Smokie is outside its Pal Sphere in passive mode, players can gather as much as 400 Chromite from each node. There’s also the possibility of earning Chromite as a reward from the newly added NPC, the Arrogant Pal Critic.
Exploring Chromite’s Applications in Palworld
Crafting Superior Gear
While Chromite may seem modest at first glance, it plays a crucial role in crafting high-tier items as players progress through Palworld. Notably, it is a key ingredient in the Hexolite Ore recipe, which entails combining five Chromite, 12 Hexolite Quartz, and 20 Ore to forge a single piece of this potent material. Hexolite gear, encompassing weapons, armor, and various items, relies heavily on Chromite for crafting. As such, players are encouraged to amass a substantial reserve of this resource, as complete upgrades can be dependence on large quantities of Chromite.
