XO, Kitty centers on the adventures of Kitty Song Covey, portrayed by Anna Cathcart, an aspiring teen matchmaker who believes she has mastered the intricacies of romance. In the first season, Kitty embarks on a journey halfway around the globe to reconnect with her long-distance boyfriend, only to face unexpected challenges. The season culminates in a pivotal moment where Kitty grapples with her own sexuality and contemplates various romantic possibilities.
Anna Cathcart reprises her beloved role from the acclaimed To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series, alongside Anthony Keyvan, who plays Q, Kitty’s loyal best friend and confidant. Fans can look forward to Season 2 of XO, Kitty, available for streaming on Netflix starting January 16.
In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Cathcart and Keyvan shared their excitement for the upcoming season. They discussed Noah Centineo’s return as Peter Kavinsky, their engagement with fan theories on social media, and the surprises awaiting viewers in Season 2.
A Thrilling Reunion with Noah Centineo
“It was amazing to reunite with him both personally and professionally.”
ScreenRant: How exciting is Noah Centineo’s return as Peter?
Anna Cathcart: The excitement is off the charts! When I heard the news, I honestly couldn’t believe it. I was messaging Noah, saying, “Is this real?”It was fantastic to share the screen with him again, not just as characters but as friends. His ongoing support for the show and for me personally means so much.
Anthony Keyvan: Unfortunately, I didn’t share scenes with him, but I heard so many positive things. I hope for the opportunity to work with him in the future. It’s great to see him contribute to the legacy that he helped build.
Excitement Around Fan Engagement

Anna Cathcart: Peter’s return is definitely a highlight! I hope fans enjoy the exploration of relationships that they’ve been eager to see. Throughout filming, I had moments with our showrunner Jessica where I thought, “They’re going to absolutely love this!”It gives us confidence that we are meeting our audience’s expectations.
Anthony Keyvan: I’m equally excited for our new characters. This season introduces some fresh faces that add depth and dynamism to our storyline, and many of them are appearing in their first major roles. I can’t wait for everyone to meet them.

Anthony Keyvan: Absolutely! It’s thrilling to see how passionately fans engage with the show.

Bringing Personal Experiences to Their Roles
“Sometimes, I fuse both identities together.”
ScreenRant: Do you identify with your characters in real life?
Anthony Keyvan: Definitely. I infuse a lot of my personality into Q. We share similar backgrounds, and during filming, I’ve often improvised lines that reflect my own character traits while melding them with Q’s essence.
Anna Cathcart: It’s fascinating to see those moments unfold. I similarly incorporate elements of myself into Kitty. While we share several traits, there are aspects of her character that I admire and strive to embrace, especially her big-heartedness. She approaches love and relationships with bravery that I aspire to emulate.
