Anna Delvey’s Attorney Responds to The View’s Correction Regarding DWTS Star’s Financial Troubles

Anna Delvey’s attorney, Duncan Levin, has released a statement following The View’s on-air correction of their “false and defamatory statements”regarding the Dancing with the Stars contestant and her alleged “debts”on Monday, September 16.

During the Monday episode of The View, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin provided an update on the September 5 conversation about Anna Delvey, also known as Anna Sorokin. Griffin reiterated claims that Delvey still owes money and continues to operate as a con artist. However, she noted that they heard from Delvey’s attorney, who firmly objected to these accusations, stating that “all of Ms. Delvey’s restitution has been repaid in full, and all the victims have been fully compensated.”

In light of The View’s correction on air, Levin issued a statement quoted by Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, expressing gratitude:

“We are grateful that The View has corrected their false and defamatory statements about Ms. Delvey. Like many, Anna has made mistakes; however, she has taken responsibility by serving her time in prison and repaying all her debts in full.”

Delvey’s attorney emphasized that the Dancing with the Stars participant “deserves a second chance”and that she “accepts The View’s apology.”

The hosts of The View, including Griffin, Sunny Hostin, and Whoopi Goldberg, had previously expressed their opinions about Delvey’s participation in the ABC dance competition. They not only claimed that Delvey had outstanding debts but also questioned ABC’s decision to allow her to compete given her history.

Anna Delvey previously urged The View’s hosts to “get your facts straight”and demanded an on-air apology

Following the sharp criticisms from The View’s panel on the September 5 episode, Anna Delvey did not hesitate to call out the hosts for retracting their inaccurate comments regarding her and her legal issues. The subject of Netflix’s Inventing Anna also requested that the hosts issue an “on-air correction.”In a statement to Page Six on September 6, Delvey remarked:

“While you’re entitled to your own opinions, you should at least get your facts straight. I served my time and paid everyone back in full three-plus years ago. Looking forward to your on-air correction. Stay nasty ladies, but don’t forget to vote on Sept. 17!”

Currently, Delvey is under house arrest after being released from prison on February 21, having served four years for fraud. Her story was portrayed in the Netflix docuseries Inventing Anna, featuring Julia Garner as Delvey. She has reportedly used the proceeds from the Netflix series to clear her financial obligations.

In related news, Anna Delvey will be participating in Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars, which premieres on September 17. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has granted her permission to compete on DWTS, although she will remain under an ankle monitor throughout the series. Delvey will partner with DWTS professional dancer Ezra Sosa in the competition.
