With the launch of Apex Legends Season 22 split, the developers have rolled out a new battle pass featuring an innovative format. Players have the option to purchase an Ultimate version of the battle pass, which offers additional skins and in-game items.

The new battle pass includes a unique Crypto skin that showcases an intriguing design covering his entire face and parts of his arms. However, shortly after its release, many players encountered a game-breaking bug linked to this skin, which significantly hampers Crypto’s effectiveness in certain gameplay scenarios.

Crypto’s New Battle Pass Skin in Apex Legends Significantly Weakens His Performance

It’s widely recognized that Crypto received a significant buff at the beginning of Apex Legends Season 22, which led to a surge in his pick rate during the previous split. This buff allowed players the option to choose a perk that enables invisibility while controlling the drone, provided their EVO Shield is leveled up to 2.

This enhancement facilitated the development of a distinct playstyle that greatly impacted combat effectiveness. However, following the release of the second split, a new battle pass was introduced, featuring an exclusive skin for Crypto that is accessible to players who purchase the Ultimate+ version of the pass. Given the distinctive designs of all Ultimate+ character skins, it’s natural for players to want to incorporate it into their collection.

Unfortunately, it has surfaced that the hologram effect associated with the Crypto skin does not function concurrently with his invisibility. When controlling his drone, Crypto becomes invisible as per the EVO perk; however, the hologram effect remains visible to all opposing players, effectively disclosing his location during drone control.

This flaw severely undermines Crypto’s utility in battle, rendering him less effective compared to other skins in Apex Legends.
