Here’s a brief overview: Elvira has publicly criticized Ariana for being a poor guest during an event, and she didn’t hold back her feelings during a recent interview for Knott’s Scary Farm.

According to Elvira, whose real name is Cassandra Peterson, Grande had once attended one of her events and controversially requested 21 tickets. The details about whether these were paid or complimentary remain unclear. Grande’s entourage then took advantage of the opportunity to capture moments with Elvira, requesting autographs, but when Elvira asked for a photo with the vocalist, Ariana supposedly replied, “Nah, I don’t really do that.” Imitating Grande’s tone, Elvira elicited boos from the audience at the insinuation that the pop star displayed disrespect towards the iconic Mistress of the Dark. “i’m so disheartened to see this. i actually don’t even remember getting the chance to meet you because i had an anxiety attack and to my memory, left before the rest of my family (this was around 7 years ago and at the time i was really not great with being in public crowds or loud places) … but if i’m misremembering this moment, i sincerely apologize for offending you so.”

Here, she subtly references the traumatic Manchester attack during her concert in 2017, which resulted in the tragic loss of 22 lives, including children. It’s understandable that such a devastating event would leave lasting effects on her mental health, explaining her abrupt exit at the event.

However, Ariana’s subsequent remarks may not have soothed Elvira’s supporters, as they came off as slightly passive-aggressive. “thank you for being so nice to my mom, she told me how lovely you were (she might have different feelings about that now but i’ll talk to her … clearly, we all have our days!)” was her reply. That statement certainly adds fuel to the fire! Bringing up her mother’s discontent couldn’t have been particularly helpful, could it?

Ariana concluded with a warm message, “sending love always. you’ll always be our queen of halloween!”

Elvira has yet to publicly address the comments, but the fanbases have certainly mobilized in defense of their respective idols.
