Ark: Survival Ascended has launched two exciting downloadable content packs: Extinction Ascended and Bob’s Tall Tales: Wasteland War. Unfortunately, players on Xbox and the Microsoft Store are unable to access these additions because of ongoing certification delays. As with earlier expansions, the new DLCs bring a wealth of fresh experiences, including mechanical entities and customizable armored cars, enriching the gameplay of Ark: Survival Ascended.
This latest installment, a remaster of the acclaimed Ark: Survival Evolved from 2017, boasts enhanced graphics and various gameplay improvements. Since its launch in 2023, the game has seen multiple DLC releases, with the latest arriving on December 20. While the Extinction pack immerses players in a Titan-infested dystopian Earth, the Wasteland War DLC offers thrilling battles with heavily modifiable vehicles known as BattleRigs. Despite being available on PlayStation and Steam, Xbox users are still waiting for their share of the new content as it awaits certification approval.

As a precaution to keep Xbox and certain Windows users on even footing with other platforms, developers made the decision to temporarily deactivate the upload features for items and dinosaurs in the Extinction DLC until all platforms are synchronized. Moreover, the developers revealed that new gaming servers are expected to launch soon. While the current certification setback impacts the rollout of the latest DLCs on Microsoft platforms, it is worth noting that the Studio Wildcard team has navigated similar challenges with PlayStation in the past.
Meanwhile, players are eagerly anticipating news about the sequel to Ark: Survival Evolved, titled Ark 2, featuring Vin Diesel. Originally announced in 2020, it has encountered several delays, the latest pushing its launch to late 2024. The community remains hopeful for an update regarding its release, but the timeline remains uncertain at this point.
