Barbra Streisand Responds to Trump’s Comments on Taylor Swift: “He is an Immature and Vengeful 78-Year-Old Man”

Renowned singer Barbra Streisand recently expressed her views on Donald Trump’s viral post on Truth Social, where he claimed to hate Taylor Swift. This post followed Swift’s endorsement of Trump’s opponents, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, for the upcoming 2024 Presidential elections.

On September 17, Barbra Streisand took to X to criticize Trump’s remarks about Taylor Swift, stating:

“When Trump posts something as silly as I hate Taylor Swift, he sounds like a young woman who couldn’t get tickets to her show. But he is an immature and vengeful 78-year-old man who should not ever become president of the United States.”

On September 15, Donald Trump targeted Taylor Swift on Truth Social after she publicly endorsed Kamala Harris over him.

“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!,” Trump declared.

In her endorsement post for Harris and Walz, Swift detailed her reasons for supporting the Democratic candidates and condemned the use of AI that falsely suggested her backing for Trump. Swift responded to Trump, who shared AI-generated images depicting her as his supporter in the elections.

“Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation,”Swift wrote on Instagram.

“It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth. I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.”

Taylor Swift also shared an Instagram story linking to the U.S. government’s Vote.gov website as part of her endorsement for Harris. According to Variety, more than 400,000 users clicked on the link from her story within 24 hours.

“She’ll probably pay a price for it”— Donald Trump’s Comments on Taylor Swift

Besides his remarks on Truth Social, Donald Trump made it clear he is not a fan of Swift during an interview with Fox and Friends. After Swift endorsed Harris, the Republican nominee commented:

“I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time… she’s a very liberal person, she seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”

Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, also criticized Swift following her political endorsement. In a September 11 interview with Fox News, Vance remarked:

“We admire Taylor Swift’s music. But I don’t think most Americans — whether they like her music, are fans of hers or not — are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity, who I think is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and problems of most Americans.”

“When grocery prices go up by 20%, it hurts most Americans. It doesn’t hurt Swift. When housing prices become unaffordable, it doesn’t affect Swift or any other billionaire,”he added.

Vance’s remarks were in response to Swift’s jab at him in her Instagram post supporting Harris, where she signed off as “childless cat lady,”a reference to JD Vance’s earlier derogatory comments.

Trump’s running mate had previously used this phrase in a pejorative context in 2021 to refer to Kamala Harris and other Democratic women. The term carries a sexist implication, often used to mock women who are childless and suggests they own cats to alleviate their loneliness.
