Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket has introduced an exciting lineup of premium rewards to celebrate the start of 2025. Players subscribed to the Premium Pass will find new features for January that prominently feature the iconic Fire-type Pokémon Moltres and Charizard.
Since their inception in the 1990s, Moltres and Charizard have remained popular figures among Fire-type Pokémon. This January, they are set to take center stage in DeNA’s mobile card battler as the game adds fresh content and rewards.
According to announcements made in the official in-game news section, players who adore first-generation Fire-types will find new ways to engage with them. This includes the highly coveted Moltres ex promo card, which will be granted to Premium Pass subscribers upon their initial login for the year. This special promo shares attributes with the Moltres EX card from the Genetic Apex series, showcasing 140 HP and an Inferno Dance move that allows players to attach up to three Fire energy to their Pokémon per round. Additionally, it features a Heat Blast attack that inflicts 70 base damage. Notably, this promo card showcases distinct artwork, depicting Moltres in an action-packed pose.

For Premium Pass holders, the opportunity to spend premium tickets on new Charizard-themed merchandise is now available in the in-game shop, an offer exclusive to these tickets and unavailable through any other in-game currency. This merchandise includes a Charizard playmat priced at 12 premium tickets, while Charizard coins and card sleeves are available for six tickets each. Additionally, Charizard covers and backdrops can be acquired for three tickets each. This promotion will last for 58 days, concluding at the end of February. Players can also continue to enjoy the previously released Pikachu-themed items for an additional 30 days. Players earn premium tickets by completing one of the 16 different premium missions offered in Pokémon TCG Pocket, along with other missions that provide extra Pack Hourglasses and Wonder Hourglasses.
Additionally, January 2025 marks the launch of another promo card: Blastoise. Players can unlock this card without any cost as part of the Blastoise Drop Event, which began on January 1. This event welcomes players to tackle four Water-type decks in solo play, allowing them to win various prizes. Victorious players will receive a single-card Promo-A Vol. 3 pack, featuring special promo versions of Pokémon like Blastoise, Snivy, Eevee, Volcarona, and Cinccino.
