Blizzard Entertainment recently celebrated the conclusion of 2024 by sharing remarkable statistics related to its titles, including World of Warcraft, Diablo 4, and Overwatch 2. Players engaged in an epic journey, achieving feats equivalent to traveling to Neptune and back eight times in Overwatch 2, and eliminating massive quantities of enemies in World of Warcraft.
In a significant leadership change, Johanna Faries succeeded Mike Ybarra as Blizzard’s president in January. A seasoned executive from Call of Duty and NFL marketing, Faries stepped into her role amid the excitement of Blizzard’s integration into Microsoft, following the acquisition finalized in October 2023.
Nearly a year into her presidency, Faries reflected on the past year’s accomplishments and disclosed fascinating statistics that spotlight Blizzard’s community engagement. For instance, she highlighted that it would take over 60 years to read all messages sent through the Battle.net app this year, and acknowledged that gamers collectively dispatched over 1.7 trillion demons in Diablo 4.
