The highly anticipated remake of Silent Hill 2 continues to show great promise as we near its release date. While we await its arrival to see if it meets expectations, the collaboration between Konami and developer Bloober Team appears to be robust, suggesting that this forthcoming remake may not be the last we see from this partnership.
In fact, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno recently indicated in an interview with Polish outlet Bankier that the studio intends to continue collaborating with Konami beyond Silent Hill 2.
Babieno stated, “You can expect that this is not the end of the adventure with Konami.”
This raises questions about whether Konami and Bloober Team have plans for more Silent Hill remakes, the development of a brand new game within the series, or even a project unrelated to Silent Hill. Regardless, it appears that the upcoming remake is just the beginning of their collaboration.
In a prior interview with GamingBolt last year, when asked if Bloober Team would be interested in creating additional Silent Hill remakes, producer Maciej Głomb stated, “It still remains to be seen, but in my opinion, you should never say never.”
Later that year, Konami confirmed it was “working diligently” on Silent Hill “remakes.”
The Silent Hill 2 remake is set to launch on October 8 for PS5 and PC.
