Chapter 15 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, released last week, brought a mix of excitement and mild disappointment. Despite this, the chapter contained intriguing moments, leaving fans eager for what’s next in the series.

  • Shinki rescues Gaara

Fans were left wanting last month when Kankuro reached out to Shikamaru, mainly because they missed witnessing the events in the Hidden Sand Village firsthand. Thankfully, Chapter 15 addresses this disappointment. While it may not have featured an extensive combat scene, the revelations provided a richer context than mere hearsay from Kankuro. The chapter depicted Gaara and his Hidden Sand team battling Matsuri and the Claw Grimes, where Gaara had decided to seal away his students, whom he viewed as the village’s future, to protect them from harm.

“You three are the future of the Hidden Sand Village!”– Gaara

During this confrontation, Gaara recognized that he was unable to defeat Matsuri, leading to a critical decision. If Gaara had cooperated, Matsuri would have allowed all three students to escape. Nevertheless, with his paternal instincts kicking in as he realized his father might perish, Shinki acted decisively. He managed to free one of his hands from Gaara’s Jutsu and utilized Iron Sand to restrain the 5th Kazekage. In doing so, Shinki mirrored Kawaki’s previous actions, successfully sealing Gaara. Only Gaara possesses the means to reverse this seal, rendering him momentarily vulnerable. Tragically, Shinki himself was bitten by a Claw Grime and transformed into a tree, thereby giving rise to the new Shinju known as Ryu in the earlier chapter.

Currently, Konoha has not dispatched any forces to Sunagakure, but it’s anticipated that they will soon, and a thrilling battle is expected to unfold in this village. Chapter 15 effectively paves the way for this impending conflict.

Code Gets Injured Again in Boruto

While the flashback offered some excitement, other elements in Chapter 15 were equally compelling. A highlight was Ryu’s full emergence, where he interacted with the other Shinju and quickly detected a lurking Code due to his heightened sensory abilities, stemming from the sand particles nearby. Ryu extracted Code using his Iron Sand Jutsu. Code immediately retaliated against Jura, who he believed had defied him, still under the misguided notion that he could obtain the Chakra Fruit and ultimately triumph.

“You can have the chakra fruit. All you have to do is eliminate Boruto and his allies.”– Jura

Jura dismissed Code’s threat easily, demonstrating superiority by incapacitating one of his arms. He even proposed a deal: Code would be allowed to live and could potentially claim the chakra fruit if he dispatched Boruto Uzumaki along with his companions. However, the true intentions behind Jura’s offer remain uncertain, especially given his apparent desire to consume the fruit himself.

Ryu also identified Gaara, the 5th Kazekage, as a prime target for devouring, due to the similarities he shares with Shinki and mastery over the same techniques.

For Ryu, it shouldn’t be too difficult to breach Gaara’s Jutsu, and fans are eager to see how his character arc will evolve in forthcoming chapters.

The culmination of excitement in Chapter 15 can undoubtedly be found in the final scenes. Boruto and Kawaki, for the first time since the timeskip, engaged in a lengthy dialogue. Contrary to expectations, the two brothers displayed less hostility, providing a refreshing twist. Boruto explained his reasons for keeping secrets from the village and his current strength, implying that Kawaki needs to elevate his own power. This gap in ability stems from the restrictions imposed by Amado, who aims to preserve Kawaki’s life for his personal agenda related to the Karma.

Crucially, Boruto noted that Momoshiki had not manifested for three years, and he aligns with Kawaki on the necessity of eliminating the Otsutsuki. However, first, he requires Kawaki’s assistance to defeat the Shinju. Thus, they have officially aligned for the time being before confronting one another once again.

Fans were surprised and thrilled to witness the reunion of Kawaki and Boruto, and it will be fascinating to see how they approach the forthcoming challenges. Initially, Kawaki must address Amado to remove his limiters, after which they will likely proceed toward the Hidden Sand Village to confront Ryu and the other Shinju. The new arc in Boruto promises to be exhilarating and pivotal, potentially resolving the Shinju threat in one fell swoop.

The outcome of this arc will set the stage for larger narratives, including the eventual confrontation between Boruto and Kawaki. Although Chapter 15 may not have blown fans away, it laid the groundwork for an exciting future. Readers are eagerly anticipating next month’s developments.
