Braxton Fans Question Tamar’s Separate Photoshoot: “What Was the Point?”

The highly anticipated show The Braxtons has reached episode 7 of its inaugural season, airing on September 20. The episode, titled Lights, Camera, Braxtons!, featured the Braxton family participating in a photoshoot to promote their show. While sisters Toni, Towanda, Trina, and their mother Evelyn gathered for the marketing campaign, Tamar chose to head to LA for her separate promotional shoot.

Tamar’s absence from the family photoshoot sparked discussions during a confessional segment, where she expressed her feelings of disconnection from the production and emphasized that her participation in the show was solely to honor her late sister Traci.

This confessional also referenced her recent appearance on the We Sound Crazy podcast three weeks prior, where Tamar revealed that portraying a character on the show took a toll on her mental health. She acknowledged that she wouldn’t be part of the show if it weren’t for Traci.

Fans of The Braxtons took to X to share their opinions on the situation. Some criticized Tamar for skipping out on the family photoshoot, while others questioned her continued involvement in the show despite her previous assertions of not wanting to participate.

“What was the point of Tamar doing her own shoot?!?!”wrote a fan.

“Umm Tamar really still could’ve went to the LA shoot. She just has to be cordial. Why she had to do her own marketing shoot?”wrote another fan.

“I remember Tamar saying she’d never do reality tv again.. yet here we are lol. Can’t say you feel ‘disconnected’ yet you’re distancing yourself from the production and your sisters for the marketing shoot.. hm, okay!”another added.

Some fans of The Braxtons were also critical of Tamar’s statements about her reluctance to be on the show because she felt she was playing a character.

The Photoshoot Day on Episode 7 of The Braxtons Season 1

Prior to the photoshoot, Trina and Towanda visited a salon and awaited their mother Evelyn’s arrival. Towanda shared that Evelyn had been on a date and expressed her eagerness to ask about the experience. Upon Evelyn’s arrival, she revealed that her date wore a full purple outfit, which she found off-putting.

At the photoshoot venue, Toni addressed Tamar’s absence in a confessional, stating that she understood Tamar’s busy schedule and responsibilities. Toni noted that the atmosphere was different without Traci and Tamar, who brought joy and laughter to the gatherings. Conversely, Tamar expressed that while she felt a connection to her family, she felt disconnected from the production.
