On Wednesday, September 18, BTS member Jungkook’s highly anticipated documentary I AM STILL premiered in theaters globally. Just one day after its release, the film is already smashing records, making headlines as the highest-grossing cinema event for a K-pop soloist at Italy’s box office.
Jungkook’s I AM STILL achieved a remarkable €66,318, surpassing the former record of €38,806 set by SUGA’s D-Day: The Movie. The latest success of the documentary was widely celebrated by Jungkook’s fans on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Fans took to the internet to express their excitement and admiration for the K-pop idol. One user stated,
“Are we even surprised? He is literally the KING of SOLD-OUT.”
Numerous positive reactions from BTS’ Jungkook’s fans filled the social media platform.
“Wow, as expected. Congratulations Jungkook,” a fan wrote.
“That’s hugeeeeeeee,” another X user stated.
“With limited screening, mind you… oh kingkook, you’ll always be on top,” a fan remarked.
Many fans expressed their pride in BTS’ Jungkook, with one fan noting that Italy feels like the artist’s home.
“Ohhh Italy is truly his land,” commented another admirer.

BTS’ Jungkook’s I AM STILL Extended Due to High Demand
In response to the overwhelming demand, additional screening dates have been added in city cinemas across multiple countries, with increased daily showings, as the film initially had limited screenings.
Theaters in the USA, UK, South Korea, Netherlands, Australia, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Japan, Philippines, Pakistan, Peru, Sri Lanka, Romania, Egypt, Portugal, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Denmark, Poland, Chile, Spain, UAE, and Hong Kong have extended their screening dates for Jungkook’s documentary, with some locations going as far as next month.
According to the Korean Film Council, I AM STILL also achieved the highest opening day box office gross for a K-pop soloist in South Korea’s history, outperforming Agust D’s D-Day: The Movie.
On August 14, BTS’ official social media accounts revealed the first teaser poster for Jungkook’s documentary, which included the film’s premiere date, time, and initial imagery on its dedicated website, www.jungkook-iamstill.com. Global ticket sales began on August 21, with Korean sales starting on September 4.
The documentary dives into Jungkook’s life behind the scenes while he prepared for his solo album, featuring exclusive interview content. The official site for I AM STILL described the film’s offerings:
“Through exclusive, unseen interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, alongside electrifying concert performances, this brand new film showcases Jung Kook’s eight-month journey, capturing his unwavering dedication and growth.”
Currently, BTS’ Jungkook is fulfilling his military service obligations. He enlisted in December 2023 and is expected to complete his service around June 2025, having joined alongside fellow member Jimin.
Additionally, Jungkook featured with Jimin in a Disney+ travel vlog series titled Are You Sure?!, which documented their travels to the US, Japan, and Jeju Island. This series was filmed prior to their military enlistment.
