2025’s Most Anticipated Singers Revealed
The Korean media outlet News1 has unveiled the rankings for the “Most Anticipated Singers in 2025.”This list, compiled with insights from 34 pop music experts, highlights their rationale behind each selection.
BTS Takes the Lead
Leading the pack is BTS, who received five votes, solidifying their status as the most awaited group. With their mandatory military service set to conclude in 2025, fans are eagerly anticipating their return. The global sensation has been on a hiatus since 2022, as the members began enlisting for military duty.
Jin, the eldest member, was the first to enlist in December 2022, followed by J-Hope in April 2023. More recently, Suga began his service as a social worker in September 2023, while RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook joined as active-duty soldiers in December 2023.
With all seven members expected to reunite by June 2025, there’s palpable excitement surrounding their group activities. A music industry insider noted, “It’s the time when the full group will return, so we’re looking forward to their activities and the members’ projects.” This sentiment was echoed by another expert who emphasized BTS’s continued influence in the K-pop realm.
One professional remarked, “The buzz surrounding BTS’s comeback is enough to propel HYBE’s stock upwards, underscoring their symbolic importance in the K-pop industry.”
G-Dragon Secures Second Place
In the second position is G-Dragon, the leader of BIGBANG, who garnered four votes. His comeback with “POWER,”his first solo track in seven years, generated high expectations. Additionally, the pre-release of “HOME SWEET HOME,”featuring fellow members Taeyang and Daesung, further stoked anticipation.
G-Dragon has hinted at a comeback in 2026 to celebrate BIGBANG’s 20th debut anniversary, which adds to the excitement for fans. He spoke about these plans in an interview with MK Sports.
Aespa and Rising Stars
Aespa follows closely in third place with three votes. The quartet made significant waves in 2024 with hits including “Supernova,””Armageddon,”and “Whiplash.”This success has heightened expectations for their future contributions to the K-pop landscape.
Other Notable Mentions
In a tie for fourth place are RIIZE and MEOVV, each earning two votes. Meanwhile, various other groups, including 82Major, IST Entertainment’s new girl group, and prominent acts like NewJeans, Dynamic Duo, and BLACKPINK, received one vote each. This diverse array of talents received recognition, reflecting the rich landscape of the K-pop industry.
As K-pop continues to evolve, the anticipation for global sensations like BTS and the emergence of other groups demonstrates the genre’s thriving future.
