BTS’ Taehyung is Overwhelmed: Emotional Reaction to IU’s Live Performance of ‘Love Wins All’ at Encore Concert

BTS’ Kim Taehyung, popularly known as V, attended IU’s concert at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on September 22, 2024. This concert marked the grand finale of her HER World Tour in South Korea, which also celebrated her impressive 100th concert performance.

Despite being in the midst of his military enlistment, Taehyung was there to support his dear friend Lee Ji-eun, better known as IU. He was spotted standing and recording her performance of “Love Wins All.”For those unfamiliar, “Love Wins All”is IU’s comeback single featuring BTS’ V, released on January 24, 2024, and later included in her album, The Winning, which debuted on February 19.

The videos of Taehyung’s support quickly went viral, with netizens praising the bond between the two K-pop stars. Additionally, the BTS idol shared several moments on his Instagram story, which included a picture with fellow BTS member J-Hope. One fan on X expressed their emotions by saying:

“Taehyung was hugging the pillow while watching ‘Love Wins All’ performance… I’M GONNA CRY”

V was seen in the VIP section dressed comfortably in a white tee, navy blue sweatshirt, and jeans. He stood up to applaud IU during her live encore performance of “Love Wins All,”with BTS ARMY commending how diligently he filmed her.

“Taehyung was smiling while watching IU perform ‘Love Wins All’ and recording it,”noted one fan.

“So the reason why he posted a behind-the-scenes shot of the ‘Love Wins All’ MV was that Taehyung was watching IU’s concert with Hobi! See you in 261 and 25 days!”added another fan.

“Protagonist of ‘Love Wins All’ MV aka Taehyung came to watch IU’s concert with his friend. Tae Tae recorded or took pictures while Jieunie was singing LWA. Taejun and Jihye, please be happy always,”stated another fan.

Fans also highlighted how the BTS star honored IU by standing through her performance, emphasizing that he enjoyed the happy ending featuring their characters, Taejun and Jihye, showcased on-screen during the performance. For those who may not know, Taejun and Jihye are the character names of Taehyung and IU in the “Love Wins All”music video.

“During the performance of ‘Love Wins All,’ Taehyung put on his glasses, hugged a pillow, and watched the performance earnestly. He also filmed part of it,”wrote a fan.

“Taehyung stood throughout IU’s presentation of ‘Love Wins All,’ demonstrating his deep admiration and respect for her. He’s such a pure soul,”another fan added.

“Tae saw the alternative happy ending of IU’s ‘Love Wins All’ MV characters, Taejun and Jihyo, on the big screen and felt the love from the fans!”highlighted a different fan.

IU Performs “Love Wins All”(feat. Taehyung) for Encore and Delivers a Heartfelt Speech

To give some context, IU’s HER World Tour kicked off on March 2, 2024, at Seoul’s KSPO Dome and traveled through Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, and beyond.

As the tour concluded at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, IU delivered an emotional speech, expressing her gratitude towards fans who traveled far and wide to see her. She said:

“We’ve reached the final moment of the tour. I’ll do my best. I know some of you are heading back after this song, and it’s Monday tomorrow. I hope the happiness you felt from today’s concert lasts for a week, a month, or even a year. May it inspire you to look forward to IU’s next concert to help uplift you on tough days.”

Before her encore number, IU affectionately shared that she is also a huge fan of her supporters, UAENA (the name of IU’s fan club), adding:

“I hope that moment when I waved the lightstick during ‘I Stan U’ stays in your memory, even if just for a second. I’m also your longtime fan. So please hang in there. I’ll sing the final song and say goodbye. For those staying back for the encore, see you later. But first, let me bid you farewell.”

In other news, BTS’ Taehyung is currently serving in the Special Duty Team (SDT) division of the Republic of Korea Army. He enlisted on December 11, 2024, and is anticipated to return on June 10, 2025.
