Captain Jason Confirms Filming of Below Deck Down Under Season 3

Below Deck Down Under season 3 is on the horizon as filming has officially wrapped up. Captain Jason Chambers recently shared exclusive insights during an interview, detailing the changes made for this season. In his September 13, 2024 conversation with US Weekly, Captain Jason stated:

“Season 3 has been filmed. I just know it’s in edits at the moment, but it has been filmed and I can confirm that. The most information out so far is that it has been confirmed.”

He also reflected on an incident from season 2 and explained how production intervened to enhance crew comfort in their workplace.

Jason discussed the evolving structure of reality TV shows and the yachting industry over time, seeing this progression as beneficial. He emphasized the need to address actions that should be deemed unacceptable in society and how new “policies and procedures”can be introduced to prevent them from recurring.

Regarding the season 2 incident, he highlighted that those involved have learned from their mistakes.

Captain Jason Chambers Discusses Changes in the Upcoming Below Deck Down Under Season

For those unaware, the 2023 Below Deck Down Under season 2 incident involved Luke Jones entering Margot Sisson’s bed without her consent.

At the time, Margot was passed out and unclothed due to intoxication. The camera crew and producers stepped in and requested Luke to leave immediately upon discovery.

Subsequently, as a result of Jason’s decision, Luke was dismissed from the crew, and Laura Bileskaline was sent home after she attempted to blame Margot for Luke’s exit.

Since then, Jason indicated that the production team, along with “additional HR people,”have not only revisited the existing guidelines, but they have also ensured everyone understands the updated policies. He stated:

“Now for the next season, the policies and procedures weren’t just controlled by the production team itself. They actually brought additional HR people to actually make sure that the black and white writing was understood by all.”

Captain Jason clarified that while the rules were always in place prior to the incident—which prompted the off-camera intervention—the enforcement of these rules has now become stricter.

NBC unveiled their anti-discrimination and harassment policies in September 2023 to prevent similar occurrences from happening again in the future.

Captain Jason mentioned that he remains in contact with the season 2 crew and expressed his satisfaction that all parties involved have undergone a transformation, stating they have “become better people.”He further elaborated:

“The one thing I want that sticks in my mind is that I supported everyone afterward. Everyone involved with it had some learning to do. I’ve stayed in touch with every person that’s been involved and they’ve become a better person and that’s great. We have to give everyone the right to learn from their mistakes.”
