Choi Min Hwan of FT Island Refutes Prostitution Allegations: ‘I Don’t Need Condoms’

Choi Min Hwan of FT Island Strongly Denies Solicitation Allegations

Choi Min Hwan, the lead vocalist of FT Island, has firmly rejected allegations concerning his involvement in solicitation during his marriage. This response comes following accusations made by his ex-wife, the singer Yulhee, who publicly alleged inappropriate behavior in a video on her YouTube channel.

Utilizing the social media platform Weverse, Choi chose to communicate directly with his supporters, bypassing official channels to express his perspective. “Being part of a company or group entails a responsibility to protect not only oneself but also the larger entity,”he explained to fans, emphasizing the complexities that accompany public scrutiny.

Addressing the media reports, Choi stated, “I have never engaged in the acts I’m accused of. I was cleared of any allegations due to a lack of evidence. It’s perplexing to consider how one proves a non-event. The absence of proof leaves me in a position where I feel I can’t adequately defend myself, which has been extremely frustrating.”

Concerning Hotel Visits

One of the key points raised by Yulhee relates to Choi’s alleged visits to hotels. In his defense, Choi clarified, “The context of hotels and motels came from my need for solitude at that time.”He acknowledged that while it may be difficult for people to grasp his situation without clear evidence, he urged his audience to consider his truth.

“It saddens me that I lack conclusive proof to validate my claims. This has put me in a difficult position — trying to provide an explanation where none seems sufficient,”he added.

Addressing Fan Inquiries

During his communication, Choi also tackled queries from fans, one of which involved rumors about specific requests he made during hotel stays. These requests supposedly included two toothbrushes and two “conditioners” —a term speculated to imply a more clandestine meaning.

In response, Choi remarked, “While it may sound absurd, I underwent a vasectomy previously, so I have no use for any condoms.”He further noted, “I always ask for a toothbrush wherever I go for hygiene purposes, and I find it disheartening that this has led to such unwarranted suspicion.”
