The highly anticipated Minecraft Movie is gearing up for its debut, and in a bid to celebrate its release, Mojang has initiated an engaging live event within the game. This exciting announcement was made during Minecraft Live on March 22, 2025. Players can immerse themselves in this limited-time event, which runs from March 25 to April 7, 2025.
The A Minecraft Movie Live Event introduces a dedicated event server where participants can engage in various mini-games that draw inspiration from the film’s narrative. The central quest tasks players with defending Midport Village against an invasion of piglins. Completing the six daily challenges not only enhances the gaming experience but also unlocks the exclusive Yearn Cape as a reward.
Day 1 Quest Breakdown: A Minecraft Movie Live Event
The inaugural day of the event features three distinct challenges designed to test players’ skills: Wilderness, Mines, and Outer Walls. Successfully completing these tasks will propel players forward in their quest while granting them valuable in-game items.
1) Wilderness: Deliver 5 Carts
To commence the Wilderness quest, connect with Natalie and Dawn, who will guide you to the wilderness where your mission is to safely deliver five carts. However, beware of the numerous piglins, villagers, and other hostile mobs that will try to thwart your mission.
Vigilance is essential as you navigate through their territory. Equip your shields to deflect incoming attacks, and consider teaming up with fellow players to enhance your chances of successful deliveries. Maintain your mobility to evade ambushes, and once you have delivered all five carts, you can advance to the next challenge.
2) Mines: Gather 100 Ores
Once you complete the Wilderness challenge, meet Henry, who will escort you to the mines. You’ll need to descend to Level 1 via an elevator and start collecting ores such as iron, coal, and redstone.
Your goal is to amass a total of 100 resources while fending off aggressive mobs. Keep in mind, if you fall in battle, the ores you’ve collected will be lost, requiring a return trip. For optimal efficiency, collect ores in smaller quantities, and frequently return to deposit them to minimize your losses.
Using torches can illuminate dark areas and prevent unexpected assaults. Equip yourself with armor and carry food items to maintain your health while mining. Once you’ve gathered 100 ores, you’re ready to tackle the final challenge.
3) Outer Walls: Defend Against Five Waves
The final quest requires you to speak with Garret, who will take you to the outer walls of Midport Village. Here, you’ll participate in a defense challenge reminiscent of classic tower defense games, where you must fend off five waves of piglin attackers.
Utilize your bow and arrows effectively to eliminate advancing foes while being wary of incoming cannon fire from the enemy. Mobility is key; stay agile to avoid becoming an easy target. Establishing a high vantage point will improve your aim, and collaborating with fellow players can help cover multiple angles of attack.
Upon successfully defending against all five waves, you will complete Day 1’s quest and receive the Boots of Swiftness, bringing you one step closer to claiming the coveted Yearn Cape.
